new only that it's from a major manufacturer.

you can buy similar PCs from smaller guys, and I've had a full-power version on my drawing board for years. mine even incorporates those vuzix display glasses thing for an extra cyberpunk flair.

unfortunately, nuyen does not grow in bio-vats...

Is the thing supposed to be connected to a monitor or that little display is the only option?

yes it can connect to a monitor (or even a HD tv by use of HDMI), and it seems to be running xp...
