Can anyone tell me where Los Angeles has been mentioned in SR books (the one I know is the novel "Run Hard, Die Fast" which has some brief descriptions of El Infierno). I'm looking for sourcebooks and novels, any edition. Of course the Cal Free State one would have it, but how detailed is it? And are their any projects online?
Cheers Pope. |

Cal Free, like you mentioned, has one. Neo-A's Guide to N.A. has a blurb on California, and I don't remember if it goes into many specific areas (although I think it does, just very minor).

Shadows of North America follows on from where California Free State and The Neo-Anarchist's Guide to North America leave off. :)

Thanks for the tips, but how good are the official sources? Is it worth it to buy 'em just for the LA stuff, or would I be better off searching online and scrawling on a modern map with crayola?

In my opinion, Cal Free and Shadows of N.A. are definitely worth picking up. :)

You're right, I did forget Year of the Comet. It doesn't have huge amounts on L.A., but what it does have is kind of important. Most of the info in YotC is also followed up on in SoNA though. :) |

Who'd want to mention Fresno?
Hell, I actively try avoiding mentioning it! |

That might be why...:grinbig: Seriously though, unless you plan on running a strictly canon campaign, feel free to improvise. Unless you have a "Denver with walls" player. :grinbig: -Siege |

There is no real government running LA and a lot of it is behind walls. The El Inferno is a large ghetto behind a wall. So it is what Denver was like(no real governement) and it is behind a wall.

Well, Saito is running it, basically, ain't he?
Or is that just one area? |

It's an on-going joke on the boards about players who ambush GMs with supplements that the GMs haven't had a chance to read, yet the player in question has memorized the book, cover to cover.
In this particular instance, it was the Denver sourcebook and according to canon, the Denver sections are secured by walls -- not unlike the Berlin wall. The GM finally snapped and roared something to the effect of, "Denver has no fragging walls!" while launching a book at the offending player. -Siege |

Um, no. Saito is running San Francisco and Sacremento. IIRC, Pueblo is pretty much in control of L.A. at the moment. |
