It's ironic how back in the day Abbu Dhabi was probably just a joke on the part of the author who tried to look up the most obscure place he could find in an encyclopedia back in the 1970s, but how today if Nermal got shipped there he/she (forget Nermal's gender) would probably end up starting an international shipping/logistics business over there and would eventually return to buy out Garfield's neighborhood.

Nermal was male. He was just so sickeningly cute that he seemed female.

Ugh, Jim Davis is the worst kind of sell-out hack cartoonist. Which makes him so easy to make fun of!

Ever tried to put a cat that really does NOT like Water into a Tub and giving him a sponge bath? O.o
Now imagine that cat having the magical ability to make you see, think and do whatever it wants . .

Also, cats can NOT be tamed like dogs to do what they are told.
They do what they do because they want to.
If they want to have somthing, they will do what they can to get it.
If that means standing on their hind paws only to get something tasty, so be it.
But if they do NOT want the tasty(granted, that's pretty seldom), but if it happens, there's no way in hell making them stand on their hind-legs only . .

Explain LOLCATS then.

Just that I greatly enjoyed Lar's intro fiction for his chapter of Running Wild, and I think you will too.

Being horribly allergic to the little monstrosities I prefer my cats to be villains! They seem to know when they can kill you with there mere presence and I attract the little fraggers like magnets. EVEEEL!

Tiger stop teasing....really wanting Running Wild (not being careful what I wish for:).

I don't think i would want to live if i were allergic to cats . .
And they do it more or less on purpose, but it's not to hurt/annoy you.
It's because people who are allergic generally don't smell like other cats and leave them alone.
So in giving them space to decide for their own, you become interesting and sympathic to them.
Thus they want your companionship.

Cat-Fights, Women and Men fighting like Cats and Dogs. If they are wearing Make-Up they are afraid of/hate Water. They like to keep themselves clean as a cat does. Fish/TurDuckEn seems to be a bigger favourite among Women than Meat as opposed to Men. They are both horribly concerned about their hair. And their Nails. And their Smell. They are both Pickish like all hell. Hell hath no Fury like a Woman scorned. Or a wet Cat.

Seriously guys.... Hijack someone elses thread if you want to discuss this off-topic stuff. I appreciate that you all love cats or what, but I'm trying to get some info related to gameplay and the same posters just keep coming in here to yak about their real world cats. Take it easy your still getting a nice chunk of ontopic info and at least its not 100% oftopic some of these cat anecdotes could help you make your para-cats more believable. A Backberry cat converts quite nicely to SR4 powers wise but stat wise in having a problem manly cos I've never played SR3. But Ill see what I can do.
edit: added stats but don't know how to re factor damage as of yet.
CODE
        B  A  R  S  C   L  I  W E   Int  Attacks
Cat, House        1  3  3  1  —  2  3  2  6    6     3L, –1 Reach
Cat, Wild        2  3  3  2  —  2  3  2  6    6     4M, –1 Reach
Blackberry cat    2  4  4  2   2   2  6  4  6  10     6L, –1 Reach
Powers: Duel natured, Accident, Adaptive Coloration, Blindness,
Compulsion, Desire Reflection, Enhanced Reactions (1D6 times
per day for [Essence]D6 turns), Enhanced Senses (Low-Light
Vision), Hypnotic Song, Innate Spell (Phantasm), Movement
(Self Only), Shadow Cloak
Weaknesses: Catnip—blackberry cats find it irresistible.

Goes:
Body, Agility, Reaction, Strength, Charisma, Logic, Intuition, Willpower, Essence, Initiative.
That's a rough conversion.

Indeed, unless you understand cattitude, you will never understand His Lordship, Sir Blackberry of Felis.

I ran a short (and silly) mission in which the character (1-1 group) was mentally kidnapped by a blackberry cat and forced to serve in his manor, where her duty was to feed all of Sir Blackberry's underlings (also cats) and provide pets and other services as appropriate. Really, a domesticated cat's needs are fairly modest, but require constant attention to provide. You can really tell you're in trouble though when you begin reading your cat bedtime stories.

Prime--Remember that geneticists have had plenty of time to do everything from cloning cats, to making them, well, better. If we can make a hypo-allergenic cat, imagine what SR science can do.

There are hints about Running Wild to be found in the monthly Dev Chats.

I'd really like to see how they were able to mkae cats better O.o
In their own Size-Category, there's no other animal that is as perfect o.O
Cats have no natural enemies in their own size. aside for other cats.
Just like Humans have no natural enemy, aside from mankind itself . .
If cats had developed sentience, or a society of their own, scientists
would LAUGH at our opposable thumbs i guess . .
OK, in Shadowrun, Dogs seem to be bigger, better, stronger, faster, meaner, more dangerous and at the same time more tame-able . .

Still, giving Cats magical Powers . . even Cats the size of a house-cat can be dangerous to humans.
and now they don't even have to lay one claw on your body to make you bleed O.o
and then you are fud! . . i am suddenly seeing a lol-talis-cat or lol blackberry cat feeding on devilrats.
goin: =^.^= Om Nom Nom Nom, easy prey, comes to me so i can eat it. Life is gooood *purrrrrrrr*

Well, I've said before that writing for Running Wild forced me to rethink traditional security measures and security practices in the Sixth World. Bad Moon Rising showed an example of seagulls as a security measure. Now think about what happens when the Renraku exec buys a kitten for his daughter and what measures he may take to keep her safe.

I wore my evil GM hat a lot while I was writing...

Edit: My Evil GM hat works just as well from a player stand-point. Imagine what a runner team could do, knowing there was a cat in the area that everyone expected to be there.
