the Disarm maneuver from Arsenal allows you to full Parry with a -4 modifier, if successful, you "knock the weapon out of their opponent’s hand."

Alot of martial arts disarm maneuvers i have studied in real life (i know, real life and game mechanics dont mix well) focus on not just knocking the weapon away, but in gaining possession of the weapon itself. I can't find anything in the rules or on the forums here to account for this...

It seems pretty logical to me that a certain number of net hits should allow for successfully stripping away a weapon using the disarm maneuver... but how many? (I know, ask your GM...) We were debating this the other day...

I proposed this house rule:
success = knock weapon away
2 net hits = grab weapon away, but requires a "ready weapon action" to use
4 net hits = grabbed weapon away, ready to use

I was hoping for some input

here are some examples for the non martial artist in the forums:
these are the top 4 hits i got when i googled "pistol disarm"

QUOTE (SR4A pg 65)
Critical Success
Any time a character scores 4 or more net hits on a test (4 hits more than needed to reach the threshold or beat the opponent), she has scored a critical success. A critical success means that the character has performed the task with such perfection and grace that the gamemaster should allow her to add whatever flourishing detail she likes when describing it. If the gamemaster chooses, he can also reward a critical success with a point of Edge (see Edge, p. 74), though this should only be done when a critical success was unlikely (it shouldn’t be used to reward highly-proficient characters undertaking an easy task).

This is where I'd allow my players to have the weapon in their hand. Due to the increased threshold in SR4A with 6 being listed as Extreme success, I'd require 6 net hits for you to have the weapon readied for use on your next action.
