I've found a post from Catalyst that states that an editable SR4A characters sheet is on their To Do list, but not much else (this was posted back in March). I've already started working on adding all the fields (half-way done), but I had two quick questions if anyone can help.

1) Can I post here (or somewhere...) without getting in trouble with Catalyst?

2) Is it needed? Will anyone else use it?

I've not seen the SR4A sheet done.

I just started a new campaign a couple weeks ago and the fillable PDFs for SR4 that were available were pretty sparse. There were only two sites that I found decent ones on (and I can't remember their URLs at the moment). One of my players ended up just making it fillable himself...somewhere over 400 fields, I believe, but we have to use Fox-It in order to save the form with the data in it.

Soooo...I'd say it is definitely needed! Don't know who else would use it or if you'd get in any trouble...

Hey hey,

I had a volunteer offer to do this, and things have just been, ah, exceptionally crazy lately, and I dropped the ball on getting him the stuff. I'll jot that down on the Giant Sticky Note that is this week's TODO list, and see about firing the files off to him, so we can get the official one up.

Sweetness! Any chance we could get one without the the (otherwise very nice) background? Its kind of a nit-picky thing, but that would make for easier printing. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'd certainly be willing to have my group test it out.

A guy named Autarkis created an excel spreadsheet. Can't remember where it is on the web but the filename is "SR4Chargen_v4"
It is relatively easy to add a worksheet to his sheet that acts as a summary sheet (i.e. for printing)

Not the same though. Some of us don't need/want a spreadsheet to calc all our points, we just want to fill in a PDF.

Personally I fell in love with Superspy's character sheet.

Awhile back I took the liberty of taking his PDF and making it editable.

Superspy's website doesn't seem to be functioning at the moment. I'd sent them to him to host, but not sure if he ever did.

I just checked and for some reason the original URL I had my editable version at is no longer functioning. Here is a new one.

Enjoy! Let me know if there's any problems. About the only thing I think it's editable on the sheet are the ammo boxes. I also just noticed there's a couple errors on the condition monitor check boxes. I'll have to go back and fix those.

Heh. I was going to write out a whole post of my take on the IP issues surrounding taking someone's published character sheet and making it editable without permission. I gave up after I realized I wasn't sure how it would come out, and it didn't feel like doing research. It's an interesting question, though. Publishing a character sheet is an implied authorization for people to copy and use it, that's what it's for. But when you release it in a locked format like .pdf, isn't that the opposite of a license to make it editable?

But then someone from Catalyst said "yes, please do this for us," and that sorta solved everything (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif)

i just read "edible" too... i think maybe i need to eat a second breakfast

seriously, editable character sheet, great idea. edible not so much, my gaming groups always seem to have terrible luck with keeping track of their sheets, i can't see how accidentally eating them would help things any

This sheet is totally awesome, thanks so much for making this. However, I do have one small problem that I'm hoping people can help me with. When I edit the PDF and save it using Preview (default OS X PDF software) the saved copy will no longer be editable! I tried using Adobe Reader but it will only let you save a blank copy of the form, no changes. Does anyone know of a PDF editor/viewer that can save the entered forms and still be editable after the save? Bonus points for OS X or cross platform, but if you know of a good Windows editor that will work to.

jhy: what version of OS X are you using? I had the same experience with other editable pdfs using tiger, but I just upgraded to leopard 10.5.7 and can now save from Preview (version 4.2).

I have a character sheet I made awhile back, which is editable by it's excel nature. It's a constant work in progress, you guys are welcome to use it if you like, or don't, whatever floats your boat.

http://www.mediafire.com/?sharekey=92395cd...04e75f6e8ebb871

The main version is the .xlsx The pdf is correct, but not editable(don't have acrobat), and the .xls works properly in office 2007, but may have compatibility issues on other programs, namely colors and print size may be off.

Always taking comments and suggestions.

I don't know what I was doing wrong yesterday, but today it is working as expected.

Any word on this, Adam?

I worked quite a bit on doing it myself, but MY GOD. Adobe Live Cycle 8 - the program you do it with - moves like molasses even on my uber-pc. I'll keep going if you tell me it will be weeks or months until this is done, but I'd rather have an 'official' version.
