A new Shadowrun sub-line has recently been authorized by Topps/WizKids for development by CGL in conjunction with FocusOnTheFamily.org. Tentatively known as ShadowrunKidz, the property line is designed to target older children and tweenagers. Initial offerings include a complete rulebook and board game. While still entrenched in the satirical dystopia of the Sixth World, the core setting focuses on a corporate controlled school of which the Player Characters attend. PCs are provided pudding cups by classmates, faculty and teachers in exchange for various errands and odd jobs around the school. These tasks can include giving a "rear admiral" to the school's token ork bully, stealing the Sperethiel teacher's cigarettes, delivering a "do you like me? check yes/no/maybe"-note to the cute elf girl, and instigating a food fight when President Dunklezhan's wacky nephew, Punklezhan, comes for a visit. Controversial tropes like blood magic and profanity will be replaced by sanitized and kid-friendly offerings such as eating fried worms to cast powerful spells and the use of inoffensive nonsense words like "frag" and "drek" and "hoop."

Every GenCon, Rob Boyle brings a copy of Tir Tairngire signed by Nigel D. Findley, and the other freelancers are allowed to rub one die on it.

The chocolate golems, spotlighted in the never-released Shadows of Latin America, will play a key role in an upcoming campaign book... We fought a chocolate elemental once, does that count? We got ambushed in a Choco-Tart factory, and when an earth elemental got summoned, it drew itself together from machinery (and product) lying around the place. It was a tasty, delicious, Force 8 monster from hell (in a fight that already really sucked). The only thing sweeter than it's yummy chocolate shell was punching the shit out of Ronin, who was an NPC in that campaign, right outside (for setting us up). |
