No prob. I saw this in a trid once:

Put a seat on one of the drones, have that drone magnetically attach itself to the underside of the Juggernaught, preferably near the waste jettison ports and wait. If there's a problem, like we all die, you just stay put until they jettison the trash and then fall away w/ the rest of the garbage. When you reach a safe distance, turn on the rotors and fly away. Simple. :)

I was actually throwing things together in my head as I did garbage a little bit ago.

Rotorcraft (tiny, but can fit a human) layered with armor. Enough extra room for gear you don't feel like toting around, and several reloads for my drones.

Since I need to be there for beating down the Sec Rigger, I might as well be near enough to my drones to do a reload/provide you guys with gear.

I've never used the BattleTac System before. As such I have a few questions about it.

The Receiver Unit is an add on for the Personal Tactical Comm Unit, correct?

The CC also says it (the PTCU) is DNI equiped so you can use a datajack to operate it. Does this mean that you need a transducer? Or is that built into the package?

I just skimmed the rules but I think thats all I have so far. This latest development is going to push back my character finaliaztion date.

On another note: I'm starting to like BeCKS. It has finally answered my "why the hell do Elves cost as much as Trolls?" I had done similar math (pros vs. cons) and been left wanting and wondering.

edit: Eventhough we're leaning towards the B&E approach I got the impression from MM first post that we'd have to blend in w/ norms at least a little. He mentioned MADs/Cyber scanners that leads me to believe at least some us will have to go in "through the front door". So maybe all of us toting around Milspec comm gear isn't the best idea.

Thoughts?

Indeed, infiltrating the 'norms' will probably be the easiest way to go, at least for some of you. Apart from wageslaves and execs, the Juggernaught carries a bunch of mechanics, engineers, scientists and so on.

As far as B&E is concerned: the Juggernaught has small flight deck with entrance/exit for small shuttle craft. Perhaps you could sneak in through there, or you could find another way in. I'll work on the schematics after work today, so I'll be able to give you a more detailed view tomorrow.
Deciding roles amongst yourselves is OK, in fact I encourage it greatly.

Keep in mind that even though there are (security or other) riggers present, most of the Jug's day-to-day operations (including security, flight operations, pretty much everything except for magsec) are handled by Phoenix, so decking through the system might get you somewhere (it won't be easy though. Off-board access to the Juggernaught's host is only possible through Saeder-Krupp's satellite network, which needless to say is guarded quite heavily considering what a successful attack from the outside might cause).

I'm not sure whether this is going to be a one-off or several missions...
I guess it all depends on how smooth things go :)

If all goes well and I've got enough spare time left after this run, I'll probably do another one. Whether or not the Juggernaught will still be involved is undecided (if you decide to blow it out of the sky, it probably won't ;) )

Well I'd kinda forgotten about the battletac and comms gear but I got microtrans with some encrypt at the mo. when I get home I'll see if I can squeeze the battletac personnal unit in.

As for the sneaky sneaky, I've got imp invis, stealth, physical mask, fashion and makeover for disguising you lot and control emotions for when I need someone to look the other way *8-> well the other way from you guys and prolly straight at me.... hey Lover totem *8-> Also I can leviate so I'll try to catch anyone who falls off the blimp *8->

As for metamagics I can mask (hmmm hidden spells *8->), shield and reflect (I think no sheet atm) so I'll come up with some ways to get you lot in if you can get me to the Juggernaut *8->

Until I hear a better plan, my char is going to go in like the bad guys from DieHard3.

The character I'm working on is a Merc / Covert-Ops guy, ex SBS.

I don't mind taking the Snake Eyes, but as Grey said it's a bit too essence heavy, I'd prefer to take an Opti-cam & Targeting Laser instead. It provides similar capability to the team, but for half the essence, it just isn't BattleTac FDSS(?) compatible like the Snake-Eyes. What does everybody else think.

IIRC you can use it through any comms unit, its just that the personal comm unit is ideal (because of it's built in encryption & ECCM and it's multi-channel capability).

Having the Tactical Computer is better than your standard BattleTac Master Unit. You get lots of extra dice on your Small Unit Tactics skill, plus a nice boost to your combat pool. If you are worried about its heavy essense cost, there is an easy way to fix that. Get a cyber forearm or foreleg and put it in that. Then it only costs 0.5 essence.

And in case it needs to be said, I'm just throwing around ideas. I'm not telling you what to do with the character.

I've never liked the snakeyes system, all it seemed to do was eat essence and allow the rigger to pilot the street sam like a drone.... on the other hand tactical computers are awesome, not as powerful as second ed had them but still seriously good and great for the group.

Btw crammed the battletac link and tac comms in oh and the third meta is invoking *8->

@MM where'd you want me to post the char sheet and background? PM me your email addy if you don't want it public *8->

Ok... now that my drooling is done... how are we handling the cash for the BP people? Like how many BPs does 2mil cost?

For the group... the character I've got in mind is a "vehicle" rigger. Now, given the BPs in question he's much more competent than I'd imagined originally out of his "vehicle" so it's not as bad as it may have been befefore. The vehicle in question is actually a powersuit. The first model, made for another game, was quite bulky, loud, and only was useful for a modified hand-to-hand combat. Given that it was built for 100,000 though, a 2mil budget would change quite a few things.

If it won't work, though, I could play other characters. Hell, a 2mil (typo: 2k? that'd suck for a Sammie) budget for a Sammie'd be much fun... what's needed still?

If you really want to go the BP route, use 150BPs at chargen and add 100 karma later. Karma-to-cash ratio is 1:5000.

Sheets and/or backgrounds can be posted here at will (it might help coordinate things if you're doing chargen as a group) or mailed to me.

So if I post my char here, can I get feedback on it? To be honest, I've never made a character that was this powerful from the get go. I think he may end up being too well rounded as he would have had experiences that shaped his development. Ya know, things got zapped by XYZ spell and upped his Willpower, nailed by XYZ chem and carries the antidote now--just in case, things like that....

Or would that be bad etiquette??

Can we use weapons from Raygun's site??

Grey: Thanx, omae. BTW, I think this makes 3 games I'm in w/ you. And your still waiting for me to get character up in The Mob Rules, too. Sorry!

I should be able to get most of my man up here tonight. I only like to go out one night a weekend (its just too damn cold up here) so hopefully I can get the whole schabang done by Sunday night. Is that acceptable Or do I need to double time it?

Heh, just about everyone that plays on the forums plays in a game with me. I sit on a computer all day at work, so I got lots of chances to check the boards. I'm in like 10 or 11 games right now.
