... try this! And to think, I am part of a lobby to have one of those used right behind my house. It looks to do 20P. Against the Fomori at our table, better bring two of them. BlueMax |

I don't know... 20 ft. steel rod, 320 km/h? That's gotta be some bow!

Basically it boils down to this:
Arrows from Troll-Bows can be shot out to about 1000m If you shoot, they hit in the same turn, meaning in less than 3 seconds. Seeing as how sound travels at 300 to 400m per second, that means the Arrows are roughly at the speed of sound. But they appearantly don't even have much drop while traveling this distance, so they are super sonic arrows . . And somehow, they are STILL regarded as silent and not very obvious a weapon. |

Link's not working for me, but the bow idea...that's a bit 'wow!' But remember; the rules are mere abstractions of combat and thus don't fully work with real world physics. Although a troll's maxed strength bow would still be ludicrously kick ass.

Well, SR4A now limits bows to STR 8, so they are not as far out as they used to be. Nevertheless, an arrow flying at 576 km/h is still impressive. The damage is reduced by that limit as well, to around 10P, so the insane damage around double that isn't available any more.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but my copy of SR4A says that bows are limited to strength 12. (SR4A pp. 315-316) Is my copy wrong, or is everyone making up this 8 number?
Also, i forgot to mention it before, but that machine is really cool. Thanks for the link! Also, I don't want to argue about Bows in here. I stopped paying attention the the thread "Bow House Rules" (look it up if you want) awhile ago becuase i was annoyed by it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) |

Hmmm... my page 316 says 8. I can't find a version number on my PDF to tell whether it is newer or older than yours. Can anyone help?
Yeah, arguing about bow stats has no place here, I agree. You are welcome for the link. Looking up interesting links like this is part of the fun of Dumpshock for me. |

I've said it once, I'll say it again. If it's not falling down in one blow, get a bigger projectile.
I suggest a dump truck full of sand and gravel. |

I think being defeated by sand and gravel would be much more humiliating than explosives, ha.
