Hate to say this, but it doesn't work for me. There are no extensions on the file name. Are you working on a Mac? They don't require extensions, but those of us on the PC side, do. Stupid cross-platform incompatibilities.

Edit: Eureka! If you add ".jpg" to the file name on the PC side they work. These are fantastic, Blitz. After studying them for a while, I'm going to re-edit my post about the interview to match the floorplans. Is there anything else you think should be added to that post?

the only important thing is that you were brought up the stairs and asked to wait in the little waiting area outside the elevators while he prepared stuff in the large room. WHen he came out, you asked if you could use the restroom and were led through the data storage room to the bathroom. as you came back, someone was leaving the secured area and you caught a momentary glimpse of the door with the retinal scanner. that's the only feasible way I can imagine.

Question: In order to get to the black door that is where our target is, we have to go through a red door? And you said red door could only be opened from one side, so how exactly do we get into the room with the black door? Or could a decker pop the lock on it and surpress the alarm?

Can someone refresh my memory about the information you received about security? Did you actually get any details about how their security has been set up? Or just the equipment used and the external surveillance?

I'm not positive, but I want to say that it was just a equipment list. Could I make a Security Systems (I have both Systems and Devices) to make an educated guess?

It was just the equipment list. Grey if Wraith can't bypass the alarm then we are looking at a loud extraction on a very close timetable, so were going to need to know soonest.

There's got to be a way that we can supress or bypass that thing. We were required to leave not trace of us being there, but they'll know that someone was in the building because the prototype will be stolen. Therefore, could we cut through the door without actually opening it? Something controlled and not demolitions if we want it to be quiet like. Just brain storming at the moment but if we don't open the door then maybe the alarm won't go off. Perhaps, however, we could still go through the door

The ROE is that we leave no trace of the uploaded data. We can nuke the building if we want, but they can't know we altered the data in their computer system.

Ok...just a friendly GM reminder...

You mission was to steal the prototype and alter their data. It's ok if they know someone stole the prototype, but no one can know the data has been altered. If I failed to mentioned it in your first meeting, the chip meant for Jack included a compressed file that he's supposed to run on the computer once he's accessed the base files.

The information you have does not give you any hints as to how that door opens, but after a rather impressive knowledge roll on Wraiths part, you think that perhaps there is a control switch located at another location that would remotely unlatch the door. Or perhaps there is a remote control device that would allow someone to open it through some sort of radio frequency. However, the door is likely steel and the one and only shot PD got of the door has it open at an angle that prevents you from seeing it's thickness.

Jack would know that in order to supress any alarms, he'd have to be in control of the buildings security system.

Not necessarily on a CCSS or if the alarms aren't on the matrix :vegm:

Ember doesn't have Acid Stream, does she? Everyone loves the corrosive effects of the Acid Element..... okay, I'll get off that line of thought and keep brainstorming .... what if we don't use the door? Can we go through a wall? Through the rom below or from the room above? Maybe bust through from the room labeled "Lounge" on the 2nd floor's blueprint?

Maybe we could use the bathroom that is next to the salmon colored room off the lounge. Judging from the tenor of Blitz's post:

QUOTE (Blitz)
:: The patrol car's schedule is erratic. You suspect, by the speed in which they pass certain areas, that the variation is due to lack of professionalism. At one point, they even stop in one of the parking lots within your sight and stand outside their vehicle smoking and chatting loudly about the latest Urban Brawl game as well as the "sweet piece of meat" one scored at the bar the night before. They are probably there for at least an hour before one of them mentions they might want to drive around a bit more so they don't get busted for slacking off. ::

The guards might be mostly male and therefore, less likely to enter a woman's bathroom. Plus, they may not consider the bathrooms with no external walls to be a threat?

If we go along with what Wrait would know, then the controls for the red doors would probably be located in the presidents or the veep's office. The pres has a nice black colored door but the veep's is less secure, therefore, logic would state that it's in the preseident's office. Could also be controlled from the receptionist's desk to turn on and off the alarms on the shipping station -- and maybe more?

Hrm ... I'm low on sleep and spent the last hour or so trying to break the Ultimate Code at the end of Dan Brown's Digital Fortress (gave up, looked it up on the Internet, should have written a program, now I feel like I cheated myself, I'm a geek) so I'm going to bed. I'll "dream" up a few more ideas to toss out to the group OOC.

Or, Blitz, if you want me to STFU and get on with IC work, let me know. OK?

Gee, that was a lot of acronyms :)

FYI..the guards on patrol in the business park are not employees of Factor Five. The businesses subscribe to an outside vendor for neighborhood patrol. The guards on dute at factor five are completely seperate and you never even saw them during your trip to through the building.

I am real hesitant to change the plan guys. We knew the doors were going to be an unkown. We were fairly certain we were going to have to deal with the guards inside. If Wraith can't get through the final door then we can just take the door out (elementals) or go through the wall. Someone pick up a saw :)

If we have to blow the door for some reason we just wait until we are ready to evac. I was never worried about the guys in the patrol car, I am worried about the Ares HTRT in the vtol. The plan will probably change when we hit the place, but we need it as a framework. If Sully can't deal with the the wageslaves behind the desk in the building, I will eat my tie (assuming my assumptions about her are correct).

I say we stick to the plan as is, and make adjustments on the fly. What does everyone else think?

Works for me. I'd like word from Jack about getting him to take over the security system of the building. If he can surpress the alarms, we don't need to worry about HTRT. As far as combat goes, Wraith can hold his own without a problem. Question is, what about that on-site super-mage? If we end up having to overthrow the security room in order to get that door open, we'll have to deal with him sooner or later. Are you mages up to taking him on?

At this point, I think we're getting ready to do a fast foward to the day of the run, what do you guys think?

Not onsite...just offsite...he'll only come if the watchers see you, or if the guards are able to contact him.

Oh really? DOPE.

In that case, how sure are our mages that they can get rid of all the Watchers before they can run away to call in the heavy hitter?

Jack can handle the security system, assuming it's computer controlled. If it's CCSS, we're going in sans overwatch.

What I am going to need, however, it's a dataline tap, minimum rating 7.

[Edit]I'd do this IC, but I don't want to double post. Blitz, did the chip Crimson handed out have a contact number on it? I'd like to call her and see if she can get ahold of a tap of sufficient rating for me.[/Edit]

Yes. the chip contains contact information for Crimson.

Shadow...there are watchers above each of the people entrances. They are sitting on top of the camera's.

I've got a Rating 6 one. That won't cut it for you?

Cause these things are 1000 :nuyen: per rating, so you're talking about a big investment.

[edit] Make that 1,500 :nuyen: with the street index.
