I know that going from Deep Resonance to Dumpshock, and from Dumpshock to Dumpshock 2.0 to Dumpshock 3.0 to Dumpshock 3.2 rev 6, etc. etc. the database got migrated, which is why a lot of users still have their date of registry set to the same as mine (Feb 26th, 2002), but I saw that I'm member 116, and Bull is member 50, for instance. Were the databases migrated on alphabetically, or was I really the 116th member? (Have I known you judgemental pricks for that long?)

I just saw that Adam's member no. is 51, so he came after Bull, so that kind of shoots my alphabet theory out of the water. Still interested though.

I'm not 100% sure, and IIRC Dvixen, Paolo, and Mark handled most of the server migration when we moved from DR to DS, and none of them are really around much, if at all anymore.
Anyways, I know we have a bunch of handles registered as users besides our own that no one else has access to (Captain Chaos, Fastjack, etc) for whatever reason. And when we were migrating over, we copied the mods over first, which is why we all have lower numbers. For the general user population, I'm not entirely sure, but lets face it Deev, we've been judging you for a long, long, long time now! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) So entirely possible that you were just one of the early registers for the site. Also possibly it is alphabetical, once you get past the Mods. At least, for that initial transfer. Like I said, I'm not 100%. Adam might know, but as he's here at GC, dunno if he'll chime in before next week. (The Hotel has a free continental breakfast, and there's a computer in the lounge. Hurray for Breakfast and email checking before I go get my geek on! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ) |

If it helps in your conspiracy theories, the old me(Wildfire) is 128, which I'd think there would have been more than 12 people between D and W....

Also, the people who got custom tags for donating for a new server long ago (DR era, IIRC), got a low member number as well, as far as I can tell, using myself as an example

DV8 was on Deep Resonance before I was, but 3278 comes before DV8 in the alphabet, so let's see where I am in the order...
edit: 326? Well, who knows, then? |
