Does anyone have any ideas on how I could get one of these for my character?

Sure. Put a monofilament chainsaw on an M23 in the underbarrel weapon mount.

Armorer + Logic (6, 10 Minutes) Extended Test, requires an Armorer Kit, assault weapon of choice, and Monosaw.

Custom weapon creation rules are fun. But I never thought of THAT!

Armorer Contact. Done. If your GM is okay with it, you can get it through him. If the GM isn't okay with it, you can't. No sense wasting personal stats simply to create custom gear unless it specifically fits your concept.

I posted a AA-12 with 2 40 round drums with a chainsaw underbarrle mount and I got lynched XD. Sure its a bit insane but it was meant to be. I had a made for my troll street sam. Ripping down doors and such was much fun.

I understand that all the Ice Cold Pros would flip a shit if monofilament chainsaws were superior to other melee weapons, but 5P is a little pathetic, given the -2 attack and parrying penalties. I'd keep the penalties, let a trained user add STR/3 to damage (capped at the number of net hits on the attack test), and if reach was used defensively against a melee attacker, I'd impose an addition -2 penalty on attacks; you'll keep your distance when one of those is being waved in your face!

But the main use of the monosaw is this rules for attacking barriers. Though a drum of lock braker rounds fired at FA does 18p to the object with half armor. XD where asn the chain saw dose only 10p iirc.

Try to convince your gm to let you design a combat oriented chainsaw. It should only take minimal bribery if the stats are kept reasonable enough.

"Boys and girls, this is the Ares Golemstriker. The Golemstriker can accept any normal ammunition, but it is suggested that armor-piercing and our special acid-filled capsule rounds be used against the intended targets. For hand-to-hand combat with a homunculus, the Golemstriker features a combat monofilament chainsaw mounted as a bayonet; this gives the combatant the benefit of greater reach than is normally possible with these types of weapons."

Can you get acid in capsule rounds. Now that would be an awesome shotgun. 40 lock breaker rounds + 40 acid rounds + a chainsaw.

yes you can..(Arsenal pg 34) "For capsule rounds filled with toxins or compounds..." and acids are listed as compounds (Arsenal pg. 82)
