The group's Shaman (a Ute from Las Vegas) did a Raid Dance in Seattle once. It stopped raining.

A Raid Dance? Isn't that something you'd use to take on bugs? Or direct a certain sub-class of nerds?

And the skies rained bug spray by the gallon; and nary was there a roach to be seen in Seattle for months to come.

I was bored, and got to thinking about the attitude post about the watch... and the virtual person + smart frame combo.. and boom character idea to annoy the gm

Careful with this, though. My GM tried to pull something similar on me, and it pretty much killed the game. My character went into personal purification/cleansing mode immediately (it was a GM-created spirit power rather than a Horror Mark). The GM seemed offput by the sudden switch in character and the fact that it was taking me away from 'work'; since my GM has an addiction to keeping the party together against all fact, reason, logic, or need, it took the whole group away from the run. With that in mind...

2200: While not appreciated, it is both wise and advised to always have a valid, standing pocket threat against at least one "Beloved NPC"/GMPC.
2200a: Always be reasonable with 'bargaining chips' in your possession. This also applies in game. The more you abuse them, the less they're worth.

Whats more than a decade of friendship compared to your mundane char suddenly being the centerpiece of an ED-crossover campaign? OUTRAGE! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
(I think I have that handled...)

If your char leaves the group, I expect you as a player to pay attention. Everyone else is not there to help along. Grues exist.

2203: I am never again to underestimate the kindness that dwells within the hearts of Shadowrunners ever again. Especially when it involves people they never met who got shot.
2203a: I am also never again to be surprised when this kindness derails my plot during a throwaway scene meant to build tension.
2204: From now on, I am to have stats and names on hand for any throw-away NPCs that the players might adopt.
2205: I am no longer allowed to be surprised when my PCs act more like heroes instead of hardened criminals.
2206: I am no longer allowed to be surprised when the rigger's anthroform drone can outrun a snowmobile. A military grade snowmobile. While carrying more firepower.

...All of these are from one session. My group is insane...

2199: My players are no longer allowed to throw tea parties with the unconscious people they've kidnapped for the Johnson.
2199a: My players may not create a complicated pulley system with strings attached to the unconscious marks' wrists and marionette them during said forbidden teaparties.

I knew I couldn't run a normal game. Two games in of mirror shades, and then 'the incident'.

2200: The GM is no longer allowed to use GMNPCs as romantic interests for PCs.
2200a: Especially if there is romantic tension between the GM and said character's player.

2184a: It will, however, make me perforated, exploded, de-materialized and de-essenced immediately.
2184b: This applies retroactively, in the case of a name change.

QUOTE (WhiskeyJohnny @ Apr 9 2013, 06:52 PM) *
2184c: Savoire Faire is, however, an appropriate name for a Bad Guy's sexy female henchman in a James Bond, Spy style campaign.

Late to the party, but...

2184d: Nor am I allowed to take "Street Savoire Faire" as a knowledge skill.

And now...
2204: I am not allowed to use the following as a premise for a campaign:

"Isla Sorna 2070

Shortly before the Crash 2.0 event in 2064, the InGene corporation, a little single A rated genetics company, created a fantastic island resort. They called it Triassic Park; a marvel of genetic technology on a volcanic island in the Pacific. Stocked with plants and animals from the distant past, and set up like a wildlife park, the island was a prehistoric paradise. It was visionary beyond its time, and well beyond its own means, and because of this, it was already on the path to failure before it even opened. A freak storm and a disgruntled employee were the nail in the coffin, leading to a cascade failure resulting in the deaths of many, and the closing of the island, and subsequent extermination of the principal attractions. The incident didn't fail to make the headlines, but was immediately overshadowed by the second catastrophic Matrix crash (Crash 2.0), and faded from the minds of all but a select few.

The year is now 2070. The Matrix is a new, wireless creature. Cyberware and bioware have progressed and become more commonplace, and geneware and nanoware have sprung into existence. Yet, despite the time and technological advancement, no one else has yet successfully accomplished what InGene did prior to 2064. And rumors abound of strange creatures washing up on the Pacific coasts, even to this day.

Enter BioSynth, a now AA rated mega-corp, vying for that third A and a seat on the Global Corporate Council. The company is infamous for stealing outside ideas, improving or changing them just enough for a new patent, and then passing them off as their own, pushing the owner of the original idea out of the market. Needless to say, they employ a crack legal team to get their way, as well as a rather massive stable of shadowrunners to obtain the secrets they desire. And for the most part it works. BioSynth has only grown as a company since their main competitor, InGene went out of business following the Triassic Park disaster and Crash 2.0.

Lu Doğusan, head of BioSynth's "Creative Acquisitions" department, is now planning an expedition to locate the source of these extant creatures, and to "recover" as much intellectual property as they can from InGene's failure. To do this he is hiring experts, of all metatypes, in applicable fields of study and work experience, and outfitting them with rugged, state-of-the-art gear. Nobody is sure what Doğusan actually hopes to find on InGene's other abandoned island, but he's going loaded for something considerably bigger than bear."

Yeah, and we'd shoot the asshole eco-nut conservationist on sight, before he could open the cages and let the animals rampage through our camp.

Also, we'd bring drone air support. Lots of it.
