2206: I am no longer allowed to be surprised when the rigger's anthroform drone can outrun a snowmobile. A military grade snowmobile. While carrying more firepower. Stats please. Careful with this, though. My GM tried to pull something similar on me, and it pretty much killed the game. My character went into personal purification/cleansing mode immediately (it was a GM-created spirit power rather than a Horror Mark). The GM seemed offput by the sudden switch in character and the fact that it was taking me away from 'work'; since my GM has an addiction to keeping the party together against all fact, reason, logic, or need, it took the whole group away from the run. With that in mind... 2200: While not appreciated, it is both wise and advised to always have a valid, standing pocket threat against at least one "Beloved NPC"/GMPC. 2200a: Always be reasonable with 'bargaining chips' in your possession. This also applies in game. The more you abuse them, the less they're worth. Update: I´m quite satisfied with the way it turned out. I managed to introduce the New Templars and the Vigilia Evangelica as somewhat opposed groups within the Vatican. The chars owe BOTH factions favours now. Time to introduce the Black Lodge and follow up on a plot by Synner. The Italian Connection will be even stronger as a co-GM is running a Mafia-based campaign. |

Yeah, you'd play Jurassic Park 2. Any excuse to bring in dinos is good enough for me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Dude, that campaign idea sounds freakin' AWESOME! I'd play it! Now the trick is convincing my friends... Yeah, and we'd shoot the asshole eco-nut conservationist on sight, before he could open the cages and let the animals rampage through our camp. Also, we'd bring drone air support. Lots of it. Drones would be limited. Wouldn't want to disturb the nature of the island too much, or we could cause a change that would make future "salvage" runs impossible. Any excuse to bring in dinos is good enough for me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Amen, brother. It's why I'm getting Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. Cybernetic Dinos! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I was actually thinking about making a few of the oldest dinosaurs have some form of cyberware or bioware. The idea in the original books that InGen had a lot of bleeding-edge, state of the art tech on their islands is inspiring. I'm thinking they'll have a prototypical wireless node array similar to what ended up replacing the hard line matrix after Crash 2.0, sort of like their prototypical Wi-Fi network from the books. Same with all the gene tech, just a bit more advanced or different than what's out there as of 2070. Stuff that was years ahead of it's lime. I'm also considering adding a few raptors that can astral project (to find out where prey is, and asses the situation to coordinate attacks for the pack), dilophosaurs with nano-toxin spit (and somehow heredetary nano-hive-glands), and gestalt-conscious technomantic compy swarms (whom use the island's network to not only navigate, but also locate dead or severely wounded animals to prey on, and also open doors and use cameras to watch things they are interested in). |

Stats please. [...] I'd like to see that drone, too (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) On Jurassic Island: My tactic would be to use some heavily camouflaged aerial drones for surveillance and recon. I would avoid at (almost) any cost to have my character cornered by some raptor... |

Drones would be limited. Wouldn't want to disturb the nature of the island too much, or we could cause a change that would make future "salvage" runs impossible. Sniperblimp drones have a practically nonexistent ecobalance impact, and with SunCell and an improved battery, can remain airborne basically until they run out of ammo. Swap the traditional sniper rifle for a laser and they can remain in the air literally indefinitely. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) QUOTE I was actually thinking about making a few of the oldest dinosaurs have some form of cyberware or bioware. Same with all the gene tech, just a bit more advanced or different than what's out there as of 2070. Stuff that was years ahead of it's lime. This is a good idea. The flipside is that such biodrone ware could also be used to control the animals - but first they need to find technical documentation from InGen's biodrone labs that details the protocols they operate on. Or, you know, a TM can do it. QUOTE I'm also considering adding a few raptors that can astral project (to find out where prey is, and asses the situation to coordinate attacks for the pack), dilophosaurs with nano-toxin spit (and somehow heredetary nano-hive-glands), and gestalt-conscious technomantic compy swarms (whom use the island's network to not only navigate, but also locate dead or severely wounded animals to prey on, and also open doors and use cameras to watch things they are interested in). Awakened Raptors = Good idea. Emerged Compies = also a good idea. Nanohive dilophosaurs = not so much. Just give them some particularly virulent poison spit mixed with natural DMSO and call it a day. [e]Also, Emerged Compies should probably be able to use their Emerged qualities to summon the biodrone animals to their assistance. |

Drones would be limited. Wouldn't want to disturb the nature of the island too much, or we could cause a change that would make future "salvage" runs impossible. Pffff. The drone is going to disrupt the island's ecosystems about one buillionth as much as the frelling assault cannons the Heavy Weapons Troll will manage to smuggle in. And yeah, you know he'll pull it off. Heck. I'd plan on having some stealthy fliers available for satellite-remote-op supply runs. On Jurassic Island: My tactic would be to use some heavily camouflaged aerial drones for surveillance and recon. I would avoid at (almost) any cost to have my character cornered by some raptor... Same here. Plus sniper rifle, or grenade-rifle (possibly loaded with sleepy-gas grenades), etc. I'd also be planting gecko-tip/surface nonmobile microdrones, with suncell and improved economy, pretty much EVERYwhere I went. Eyes-and-ears, man. Eyes-and-ears. |

Wow, great ideas, guys! With all there interest, I almost feel this needs its own topic...
2204a: If I do intend to start a campaign with that premise, I am forbidden to post it to the "Things I am not allowed to do in Shadowrun" thread, derailing it as everyone talks about how they would try to survive the island and its dinosaurs. |

Good point on the Repeater. Plus, that provides the whole team with a communications network ... for places we've been to, anyway.

2206: Lael is not to be used on party members ever again.
2206a: Any memory altering drugs are not to be used on party members when sharing secrets that may cause damage. 2207: Breaching charges are a privilege, not a right. I am to no longer use them to make entryways just because the door is six meters away and I don't wanna walk. |

Laes. Also Leäl. Per Arsenal, top left of p77: Leäl is a less potent—and expensive—version of laés, and a popular date-rape drug among the Seattle club scene. Leäl has the same effects as laés, but the user only loses the last (120 – Body, minimum 100) minutes of memories; the duration is 5 x 1D6 minutes. |

May as well go full shitdark on the poor old girl. Give her a motivation, though - revenge is a powerful motivator. Track down the random scumbag who date-raped your new friend Orangepeel and visit nine circles of nine hells worth of torment upon their benighted souls. |
