So, General question....if your character got caught to the point they followed him back home what are your options for changing your Identity?

Matrix I know is as easy as new SINs and hardware all AIDs to new numbers.

What other options to help make you drop off the grid.

My rigger has this problem and has Erased quality at 10 and is a SINer

They found his house and has been servery hacked and under surveillance.

Ok, your problem is not that you ned to burn your sin. That is the easy part, contact your teams decker and have him remove it or edit it to another person. The other problem is that you need to lay low for a while and get off the grid for a while until the heat dies down. The barrens, a feral city, the carrib league, berlin (anarchist side) make ideal "vacation" spots.

But you probably don't want to travel there on you current SIN.

It's easy to blow up a SIN. It's a lot harder to get rid of the data that LS/KE have accumulated about the SIN. And like the FBI, they don't really care what you say your name is or what your drivers license says. They don't need to know who you really are to arrest you and get you convicted. They wold like to know, but it isn't essential. LE databases are the roach motel. Data goes in, but it doesn't come out.

Your absolute best bet is to burn the SIN (as said, that's the easy part), fake your death, and move. FAR away. The list of places to 'vacation' Warrlordtheft gave is quite good. But stay there for at least a couple months, and don't do any runs during that time. then go to an entirely different place, and buy a new fake SIN. Then you can probably go back to the original place and contnue your running life in the shadows... Of course, if the GM wants you dead or in jail, you're fucked.

First leave the jurisdiction you are currently in. That way if they do find you at least they have to go through the legal mumbo jumbo to even get you back in their jurisdiction to prosecute you (This is the main reason I love the SCC).
Second just throw the SIN out as it is dead weight to you and you will need to buy a new SIN when you return.
Switch to cash and live off the land if possible (ie no Matrix for a while).
Only return when you know it is safe to return (ie you get a text message from multiple people wondering if your still alive "I haven't heard from you since that thing a while back, I thought you may have died."

Burn the SIN and the apartment while you're at it.

With Erased 10, something is actually actively going out and deleting everything about the character. So all their surveillance data disappears within 24 hours of gathering it.

Actually, all you have to do is go hide out somewhere until the surveillance leaves. 24 hours after that all data is gone. Your SIN won't even be flagged anymore.

How did the find your house anyway?

*EDIT*
Guys, he has Erased at 10 points! All the data and such on him gets zapped pretty damn fast. It is basicly impossible to keep any form of electronic record on the character.

24 hours is more than enough to make someone's life miserable. Just take a look at 24's first season (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif)

Which is why I said he just needs to diappear for a couple of days. I would still ditch the house though, since they might now be able to record where the house was but they can make a memory roll to remember where. Of course, if it is cops working lots of cases then they will have a lot of trouble (high threshold) remembering one little address since they will expect their comlink to do it.

Here's what you do.

Realistically, if they visited your house, you are under surveillance. Leave anything you have there except perhaps a firearm. Make sure you keep everything wireless connected, and on. Leave your home (you do have some kind of non-observable exit route, right?), and head to wherever your bail-out kit is (You do have a bailout kit, right?). Take the comlink in your kit, buy a one-time comcode, and call your hacker. Explain the situation, tell him to connect to your old link, and wipe everything. If you emphasize the house visit, you should be able to get him to do it for free, since you've probably been working together lately. Assuming he's half-way competent, he will know how to wipe down the digital side of your trail without exposing himself.

The next big concern is ritual evidence. This is a tricky topic to deal with. You obviously can't go back to the house - for all intents and purposes, consider it a bug spirit hive. There's numerous objects that could be used to track you ritually in there. Besides blowing the place up, you have two options - run as far as necessary to make it uneconomical for the group to chase you (this may be tricky with the Megas, since they have branch offices all over), or figure out a way to stay low locally.. ideally behind a ward. Buddy up with a mage that wouldn't be under surveillance for the same reason you are. Pay him in certified cred. He can help you.

The moral of the story is that going off-grid is a contingency that will succeed or fail based on how well you plan for it before it happens. Some people go to crazy extremes, like consistently wiping their identities and staying on the move. Fluff doesn't really indicate that it's necessary. That said, you should have an emergency kit (plenty of great threads on this), and a plan that integrates how you're going to neutralize the various kinds of trails that you create as the threat escalates.
