Hey everyone. Been working on my character some, and plan to make a generalist non-rigging rigger (Promise that will make sense). Will be very good at basically everything from the Technical skills section, and might be able to not be totally useless in combat (Not counting drones). I won't be picking up hacking though, as I don't know that I'll be able to split the resources into it and we already have a hacker. Other than that... medic, pilot, surgeon, mechanic, should have it all nicely covered.
Should have a sheet and story before too long (Though not tonight) |

Psst. Guys. Diving gear. I have it, and most of it is built in! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) LAW rockets are more economical than the Striker + ammo, if less intimidating based on size, so some of those would be a must. A pair of Ingram LMGs to put on hidden pintle mounts, for sure... or, given that gear restrictions are looser, an assault cannon to use as a deck gun in a pinch. Some explosives might be useful, and even without a launcher, some depth charges could be put to good use. As for the cover, I was picturing not a reality show, but a "Shadowrunner Theme Cruise." Bored executives pay a few thousand nuyen for a weekend cruise... they get to wear armor and shoot the automatic weapons we provide (charging for ammo after the first hundred rounds they fire). We set up a "raid" on a beach house we rent, with a few pretty local boys/girls to "rescue," a system they need to hack to shut down the security, maybe a few other activities like "disabling the early warning system" but shooting up a few buoys while riding jetskis, drop off a package with a Johnson at the end. Thrills just like in the vids! Giving the guests "Shadow Comlinks" with AR effects to add to the realism would help, and if we have a mage with Trid Phantasm, the guests could use a "weapon focus" to fight and "kill" some magical guard monster. All the PCs would play up their "real" shadow backgrounds to add to the experience during the cruise. We'd provide the guns, heavily modified with safe trigger systems and capsule rounds so they don't hurt themselves. |

I love that idea. Also a great way to meet new people. Yes, I do have Trid Phantasm. I can even summon a lowly Elemental of some kind for them to boss around, within reason.
I really want to squeeze in a cold storage bay now into the Yacht. We seem to have a need for it. |

I think even gel rounds would be overly damaging to the guests... I'm sure there is some kind of exceedingly non-damaging ammo out there.. like paintballs or something, fired with small charges so they don't go all that fast. Would be an amazing excuse to have armed drones hanging around "Oh, they're just props for the cruise, they might get you covered in paint, but nothing dangerous..." |

Another thing for the Budget, we should keep some cash on hand for bribes, emergency expenses, replacement gear, etc.

And ammo!
I know SR4 does away with specific calibres and whatnot, and instead makes ammunition weapon-class specific. There's only so much ammo one can haul, and I don't fancy our chances of getting more Ex-ex easily. I suggest a shared stockpile of ammo we can dip into after our supplies are gone. Or is that of small consideration? I have one Ares Alpha. a Colt Water Carbine, and an Ingram Smartgun X. The latter two can share ammo as SMGs, the Alpha can't as it's an Assault Rifle. MusicMan has Heavy Pistols and Shotgun, milk ducks has the same shotty too and heavy pistols. CollateralDynamo is using a holdout pistol. budoka05 seems to be kung-fu fighting. Ears has an Ingram White Knight (ooh big gun) and an Ingram Smartgun X too. That's from the OOC page. So we can save MusicMan and milk ducks some worries by buying them spare ammo, they'll be shooting more often than us. CD can probably use a stash, and a few more SMG rounds for Ears and myself would be sweet. Also guys... food? Water? Where and how are we tracking these things? Any word on pintle mounts for the ship? Just somewhere we can get some free Recoil Compensation aboard the ship. Seems plenty of us has Heavy Weapons, we ought to buy at least two more for MM and MD. Maybe even save Ears the money for his White Knight. The Light MG Package: - Ingram White Knight 2000 - Gyro Stabilization 3000 - 2 Belts of Ex-Ex (200) Ammo 2000 Total: 7000 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) At the very least we can scare away the Megalodons... A few 750 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) LAWs, maybe one or two ArmTech MGL-12 Grenade Launchers (2000 a pop, +50 shockpad, +400 Smartgun, +500 Airburst Link, +50 Skinlink... so say 3000 each). Plus of course the fake guns we'll give to our customers. |

@Budoka: Good call on the medical station. I'll modify the list. I figure BaronKen will have his own medkit since he wants to be a medic and that can handle field concerns. I also agree that an attempt at saving the last 20K or so should be made.
@Marwynn: We can throw ammo in the pile, the thing is its such a low cost I was thinking of picking it up as filler once we are done choosing other things. I can throw 2 White Knights equipped per your post onto the gear list, no problem. @Knight: I can throw some LAWs in since it looks like we have people who are marginally prepared to use them. But how are we doing pintle mounts? Are we looking at tripods or some such? We have no gun port mods on the Classique, and those are what generally provide RC from the vehicle. Also, GM, is an Assault Cannon within our means? I will start messing with the Zodiac boats today, shouldn't take too much to work them up and the expense will be relatively high. Does anybody have any thoughts on a land vehicle of some kind? What can we feasibly fit on our Classique? Anything larger then a motorcycle? Also, just so we are clear, this cover story to have rich guys on our ship, are we actually going to HAVE rich guys on our ship, or are we just going to SAY that is what we do. Its a very important distinction. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Also it gives us a great excuse to get... information.
Seriously, a few drinks and an Influence spell or two and some Laes cigarettes and they can spill the beans on a LOT of things. Too good an opportunity to pass up. The Gyro'd LMGs can go to milk ducks and Ears, the two fellas that can wield it properly. Cheaper ones can be had with a Tripod for those who can't carry the Gyro easily. And of course one or two Smart Firing Platforms, modified with Skinlinks so that they're in contact with the ship and can be controlled by our Rigger/Hacker or whomever. The rich guys are just too good a resource to pass up. We'll just not exploit any affiliated with our employer's corp. |

Posting surreptitiously from school again.
Bad Penta, bad. Anyway, about lifestyles. I forgot to mention this, but Karoline caught me to my neglect. Advanced lifestyles are a nogo because you're all aboard ship. Thinking holistically...You can (and indeed are encouraged to) take a lifestyle, for RP purposes. But it'll represent your on-shore lifestyle, the place where you -would- live were you not aboard ship. Aboard ship, you live at whatever lifestyle the amenities provide - for a Classique, I'm presuming a Middle lifestyle, given you all stripped out the luxury appointments. |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Haven't had a chance to read through everything that is going on the boat yet, or even what kind of boat we have exactly (I think I saw Yacht at some point) but I was wondering if there was any sort of plans to have a shop/facility of any kind on the ship? As I'm planning on playing a rigger such a thing would be super useful (And I wouldn't mind paying for it if Penta allows that out of starting resources), just wasn't sure if this had been considered or not yet, or if something of facility size would even fit on our ship. |

Sorry about that. I knew to add the 'in theory' part when saying I had time off. Had to work more, but I've hit my 40, so they can't call me in any more for the next two days. Haven't had the time to crunch numbers, but have a tentative character concept. Just need to sit down and flesh it out further. [ Spoiler ]

Hmmm... intriguing. But you did say that we won't be hitting one particular corp, and not engage in slave trade, so yes I assumed... bad, Marwynn, bad!
I'll hafta get a Low Lifestyle in there somewhere. Also, for ground vehicles, I suggest a pair of Offroad Motorcycles, Yamaha Growlers and the like. |

Facility size would not fit, correct. Shop size - you need to specify the skill it's working with. First Aid? Medicine? Nautical Mechanics? Hardware? Etc. I know they're looking to put one on there, but I dunno. |

I know they're looking to put one on there, but I dunno. Yes, I planned on specifying the shop as 'mechanic' in general (Which I think is specific enough, but if not, nautical mechanics). We could also set up a medical shop for the dual purpose of healing us when we get injured, and when our guests get 'injured' we take them there and give them a stim pack and send them back out. All hail realism in our side business. But what kind of ship are we on, was "Yacht" correct? How big of one? Does anyone have a current list of what our 500k starting funds went to and whatnot? I'm just curious what all we have so far. |

A generic machine shop? We'll need one just for repairs to the ship. It won't have the appropriate tools to rebuild guns and the like, but perhaps you can allow us to pay for the tools without taking up extra space. They just need workbenches and the like.
Wait, since we removed the Luxury Amenities can we theoretically get the differnce between that and the Middle amenities in slots? |

We can save some more money if we go for Tripods instead of Gyro Stab. 5400 at least, for the same RC.
I'll mod up some cheap Ares Predators for the rich guys' use. As well as several "costumes", lined coats, armored vests and the like? |

The Gyro'd LMGs can go to milk ducks and Ears, the two fellas that can wield it properly. Actually giving one of those to my troll makes him a worse shot in most cases. The White Knight starts with RC 5(6), attach it to my troll you're looking at RC 7 ((IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif) . So a long plus a short burst incurs no recoil penalty and even a full burst only -2 (thanks to doubling). Throw smartlink and a scope with image magnification in the mix and I'd rather roll with the gun I statted up. Which also means that the ones paid from common funds don't have their controls modified in a way that makes using them with the "normally sized" hands most crew members are struck with a chore. Besides, that White Knight is not the one that he lugged over half a continent, nursing and maintaining and repairing it all the way so that he actually had to buy it off from his old boss and take it along for sentimental reasons when he left. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) To quote Jayne Cobb: "This is my best gun. Her name is Vera" Re.: The onboard shop . Well, depends what we figure needs repairing the most. We're aboard a ship and have some boats, so Nautical seems like an obvious choice. Now we'll probably want some drones, they could be minisubs/boats -> Nautical again. OTOH flying drones get into and out of danger much faster and would be quite handy as well as the most likely to draw fire. -> Aeronautics. With only one or two cycles and maybe (?) a crawler, Automotive is not really a contender and Industrial would be quite silly anyway. Armorer might be a good choice, too. As we'll be handling a real assortment of weapons and armour, especially with all that stuff for the rich idiots. So IMO it comes down to Nautical or Armorer with Aeronautics a maybe. Personally I feel that any ship operating alone needs the ability to fix itself, so I'd pick the Nautical one. |

Sorry, I've watched that show waaaaay too many times (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) Well, I put my vote in for a mechanic shop. If we have room for it a medicine 'shop' would be great too (You know, to stop the dying, people like the not dying). |

@Karoline - We got a medical station, and that should do for most injuries.
@Penta - How much will you allow the medical station to cover? Will it cover most general medical supplies (i.e. medications, standard diagnostic tools)? Cybernetic/bioware repair? |
