Yeah, I was going to quote both of you, but I figured that was excessive. Had to choose one, and Thanee's was the last one I read.

You know you're only allowed to have 35 points of negative qualities right? Or did I miss something where milk let us go over that limit?

No still fine tuning.
BTW, I think In debt is really overvalued. So I can take -5 instead of -10 for In Debt II if you want. |

Yeah, in debt is amazing. Even if it didn't give you any money at character generation it wouldn't be all that bad. As it stands it gives you 5 BP, 1 BP worth of starting resources, and costs you 1.5 BP to pay back off.
I'd take max ranks in it if I didn't have these other negative qualities that I actually want to give my character substance. |

Well there is that whole "The character then owes her creditor that much plus another 50 percent." and "The amount owed increases 10 percent every month, as compound interest." In a low level / street game it might be hard to make those payments. Thats why I went with just one level- the last thing I want is a mobster loan-shark after my PC! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
Also, are we playing with [CHA x 2] or [CHA x 3] free contact points? |

Yeah, but most PBP games don't go much beyond a month, anyway. On dumpshock, for sure, it amounts to free points. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Well, yeah, but my point was that as long as you don't take forever to pay it off, you gain 6 BP and lose 1.5 BP, so it is a net free 4.5 BP Granted in some games paying off a big loan quickly could be easier than in others, but for the most part, you stand to make out very well from taking the 'in dept' quality. Not to mention the fact that it lets you go over the normal 250k max. Heck, if you do it right, get three levels of 'in dept' take a high lifestyle (10k) and leave 1,200 from your buying amount, you'll get (4d6+12) * 500 starting cash, which is an average of 13,000, which is slightly more than you spent on the lifestyle and bonus to the roll, and gives you almost enough to pay off the 3 levels of in debt, by spending the money from the 3 level of in dept, which basically amounts to 15 completely free BP |

Interesting character. I don't think I've ever seen anyone take Improved Ability Hardware before.
Question: Nimble Fingers 2? I thought Nimble Fingers only had one rank? I was going to suggest Quick Draw for your character. Yeah you lose the nifty Free Actions, but you get to throw a hidden knife with only a single Simple Action. Just need a Weapon Skill + Reaction (2) test. So you wouldn't have to Ready the throwing knives before. You can just quick draw then throw them with the same simple action! My character had that same setup before as an Adept. Same goes for blades, quick draw them and it'll only take one complex action to immediately go and slice and dice. |

Method, loving Kid Hollywood. Haha Spanish 1 (but he thinks he's fluent). Interesting character. I didn't see this before. Thanks! I think "Shotgun Sam and the Hollywood Kid" has a nice ring to it, don't you? And DigitalOYABUN: I'm liking your PC as well. Very interesting. |

I have played in a number of rather long-running PbPs, so they do not all end quickly. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Looks like most of the characters are either finished or coming along nicely. You guys may be wondering what's up with OperationSpirit, since she hasn't posted since the first page. She's actually my wife, and she's been waiting to see what everyone else is making before writing anything up. I'll go ahead and post a bit about what she's come up with because she's still in bed (we have a newborn son, and she stays up with him pretty late most nights); the character is a bit of a gearhead. She's taking the juryrigger quality, and with a fair number of points in cybertechnology, hardware, mechanics, and armourer, she's basically going to be Mrs. Fix-it. Tossed in a couple points in pistols for good measure.
At any rate; character's nearly finished. Just wanted to keep you guys updated. -milk. |

I have played in a number of rather long-running PbPs, so they do not all end quickly. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I have, oh I dunno, a half dozen different 'runs floating around in my head at the moment. None of them are huge, mega-corp blitzes or anything. They mostly attempt to illustrate the shadow politics of the Sixth World, and focus on character morality (or the lack thereof). But none of them should last a really long time. I suppose it really depends on how often we post. Short games also allow players who aren't feeling the game to phase out more naturally in-between jobs. -milk. |

Spirit's character doesn't speak over half a dozen languages, and isn't as charismatic, either. Your character still has plenty flavour. -milk. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) I'm special, just like everyone else (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

Oh, also, before I forget. Is custom fitted armor (Start of the armor section in Arsenal) an option at all? My body is keeping me wearing anything besides armored clothing.
