Update:
A Bit on the Project I am simply labeling locations by the information given. I am trying not to guess which buildings on the map actual house these businesses (unless it's obvious like the Space Needle). If I'm given a crossroad, say 3rd Avenue and Pike Street, then the label goes on that intersection. Some locations are not given crossroads or addresses; they're just said to be on a street. Those locations are not getting mapped for now. Maybe I'll pester Adam and the gang for more info later but they've got bigger things to worry about. Here's what I've got so far. Tonight I'm cranking out plenty more; maybe even the rest. And yes, I will make a master map with all of the locations but since the computer that I'm working on current is a POS I need to do it in chunks. Also, some of these maps are not centered correctly; I'll relink them after I'm done. Seattle Downtown - RAM Hog Bellevue Tacoma Everett Renton Issues: I've got plenty. Here's the short list: Seattle Piers There are a lot of references to Pier 63 and 64 as well as a hand full of others. I've researched them a bit and my current maps reflect this. Bellevue How I hate thee, Bellevue. Evidently Bellevue eats Kirkland in the future which leads to a bit of confusion. This one is going to take me a while. Plus there are quite a few businesses that are not given crossroads or addresses. Conflicts Not an issue, more of an observation. There are a few businesses that exist IRL in Seattle but some of have moved a block from where they are now; farther in some other cases. I unserstand moving a few of them but some of the changes make no sense. |

I'd like to offer some assistance, but honestly those map programs are not 100%. Google Earth actually has a street running through where my living room really is as well as running it parallel to another while the two actually end together two blocks south of my home, and mapquest says I live half a mile west of where I really do (and also has the same street issue Google Earth does).
On top of that, I found, while plotting locations from the Denver campaign downloads from SR4's site in Google Earth, that many address locations are also not either consistent or also inaccurate to where they're supposed to be. Considering that SR4 takes place over 60 years in a fictional future, my advice would be to consider first how radically different everything is and just make notes of the corrections you need to for your own game and not worry about how things line up presently. |

Btw, I highly recommend using Google's street mode (zoom in all the way), which gives a 360 view of the area, to crawl around Seattle, especially Tacoma. Pretty cool stuff. 11th street and St. Paul Avenue has some pretty ghetto sights.

Just finished updating Downtown Seattle with info pulled from the old 1st edition Seattle map. Restructured the Piers, moved some locations from the intersection onto the actual city blocks and added blocked areas for the ACHE and the Aztechnology pyramid.
Warning though, with the addition of the blocked out areas the map hogs RAM. |

Not sure if the sourcebook moved the Pacific Science Center to Harvard and Mercer; but IRL it's located in the Seattle Center.

An excellent project. May I suggest adding an entry for each location on our [http://wiki.dumpshock.com/index.php/Main_Page SR Wiki]? Perhaps we could implement something similar to Wikipedia's Coord Template.
I am not sure how to contribute to the map project other than that. |

These are fantastic. I've imported all the points into Google Earth, and now, when the players want to go from Silcox Island Correctional Facility to Evergreen Arboretum, I can not only tell [and show!] them how they'd get there, but I can even produce animated drones'-eye-view flythroughs of their route. I'm increasingly integrating Google Earth into my games, and this will be a huge asset. Thanks!
I'm working on a series of overlays that'll show the SR4 neighborhoods in Google Earth. I'll share when I get it done! |
