I was totally hoping for something bigger than a computer screen inside the metal briefcase. Like maybe a bomb, or a bunch of old school replica money just for the heck of it. You know, strait out of those old 'videos'.

Test run

Any suggestions before I post it.

Rev smiled, "I like better. I take it, he will not be using their services again.

Do you care if they have reason to associate what ever happens with him?

Do we have a way to physically ID the "the puppet"?

The same for the personafix being used and Mr. Gifu Sho "account" along with how he paid for the services.

In particular we will want to know exactly how he would schedule his appointment and pay for it along with what and how he addressed her plus any information we would for need for a "Mr. Gifu Sho" to pay her another visit.

For instance how often would he arrange an appointment and when was the last time he saw her.

Also is there any thing we need to know about him being lost in the wilds of Tacoma?"

Finally how much better?"

I think its a good idea to get information about how Sho interacted with the parlor, but I don't think our first step should be to use that info. If the yaks are actively stealing information from this guy they will be more vigilant and are likely to become suspicious if anything is amiss. I would say our first step should be to send one of our group in posing as an unrelated John and drop some misinformation- maybe something about a smuggling op that will be too good for the Yaks to pass up. Then we set up a sting and see if the Yaks act on the info- we don't need to engage them, we just need to see if they show up. Then we can work out the rest.

Couldn't we just have the good doctor call in for another session just like normal, then have someone go in disguised as him? Would get us quick and easy access to the girl.

Yes we could, but there is more risk, and we don't know for sure that this is the source of the leak. The problem with sending someone in disguise is that the yak have presumably be surveilling this guy for some time, and could notice any discrepancy- even a little detail we would never think of. For example, there was an american spy that was captured by the soviets because he ate his pie starting from the point, and in Russia they eat it from the crust.

True, but they might buy it long enough to get us access to the girl and the Personafix.

Haven't seen it.

And what do we do once we have access to the girl? Shoot our way out of a Yakuza buraku parlor? My point here is that gaining access to the girl is the easy part. I'd prefer to know for sure if she is the leak before we get to the hard part.

By all means, take anything he will give us.

And just for good measure, I'm going to toss up a few Perception Tests for Hollywood. He's just looking for anything suspicious in the crowd or at the front of the club.

[EDIT]: looks like Invisible Castle is down. milk, feel free to roll on my behalf. Int 3 + Perception 2 (+ Audio Enhancement 3 if applicable).

There is also a spy (well, not really a spy, but close enough) uncovered, because he is doing a simple gesture the 'wrong' way. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I went ahead and used the online D&D dice roller. Unfortunately, I'm not seeing any way to link the results. I rolled two Perception tests for you. I'm assuming you're using Observe in Detail Simple Actions and all that. The dim light of the club would ordinarily impose a -2 penalty to your visual Perception tests, but your Low-Light contact lenses cancel that out. On that test, you rolled 1,1,6,2, and 3; almost a glitch. I believe the standard Perception Threshold is 2, so that test was no good. There's a lot of people moving around, being loud, and lots of ambient lights distacting you.

Then I rolled an audio perception test and got 1,3,5,6,6,6,3, and 2; that's four hits, so you did very well there. Kid Hollywood is easily able to cut through the distorted guitars and drunken shouting, and focus on nearby conversations and general chatter. Nothing seems out of the ordinary at the moment. If anyone's suspicious of you, Hideki, or his goons, they're not talking about it.

I'll have a full, in-character response to your questions a bit later on tonight.

The Datachip from Hideki, being the internal security reports dealing with Dr. Gifu Sho's case, has answers to basically all of your questions, and a whole lot more; including as much information on the girl as possible, and trideo images of her captured on Sho's own cyber-eyes. I'll post exactly what's in it tomorrow when I get home from work. I'd do it now, but I'm totally beat. Good night, guys.

Got no problems with moving it along so everyone can get involved but let me ask a few questions.

Is this the usual MO for Mr Johnson?

Is the price fair?

Or is he having us hurried out because he has another appointment?

Maybe we should keep him under observation discretely?

Sure. I rolled your nine dice (AGI 4 + Palm 3 + Nimble Fingers and Improved Ability 2) and got: 3,4,5,4,1,4,5,3,and 3. That's two successes. I just pulled some random goons out of the book, and honestly, these guys don't even have Perception as a listed skill. So they're defaulting (-1). With the Dim Light in the club, that's another penalty (-2) for anyone without Low Light Vision. Also, nobody is specifically taking an Observe in Detail simple action, so that's an additional penalty (-2). Still, it's an opposed test against all four of them (let's not count Matsu Hideki), so they get a +3 dice bonus for that.

With their reduced dice pool, the goons don't even score a single hit. Nest0's able to score a Fichetti 600 light pistol from its concealable holster hidden within the jacket of the guard that's lifting him to his feet.

Rev doesn't need to make a Perception check to notice Nest0's reaction; it's pretty obvious neither of you are crazy about thugs laying their hands on you. I guess it should be noted that they're not being rough, or rude, necessarily. They're being firm. I went ahead and rolled a Perception check for you anyway, to see if you noticed Nest0 making a Palming attempt. After the penalty for distraction, you got: 6,3,2,5,3, and 6. That's three successes, so you do notice Nest0 palm the pistol.

Hmmm. So this job is apparently non-negotiable. You all realize that we just got stuck between pissing off Hideki and pissing off the yakuza, right?

Mmmmm gritty. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smokin.gif)

I'm trying to decide what Sam would do. Seeing those two being man-handled would have done nothing for the ork's cool. "Just following orders" and the like don't mean much to him, he'll shoot the two outside if they get rough or get loud. Luckily for them he has SnS loaded...

Pity, however, that this Mr. J seems to have made a rather serious mistake. From my reading of it, he motioned for his bodyguards who all came to the table and escorted the two out.

Leaving Sam with a japanese Johnson who just dissed his friends and him by extension by being so rude. You see my dilemma. He knows bad things will happen if he does bad things to Hideki, so the motivation will have to come down to the basics: his two siblings (sorry guys in the end your characters don't factor into it for him, they're family).

He'll walk the line.
