Scorch nods as he brings up his notes, <Two in the family - a wife and daughter - Danielle and Laura Carter. Jay-One is Mark Carter, by the way. They're being held by at lest five gangers, one of whom logs onto this security node every two hours, with the wife's account.> He gestures towards the feed of the various cameras. <It might be a good idea to coordinate our assault with that log-in. I should be able to access the locks on the doors, and I can fry that user as it comes online - at the same time that some of you move in, which would give us the ess-ay advantage - assuming they don't have their own see-see-ess-ess running. If any of you have a wide-area jammer, we're probably going to want to make sure none of them get the chance to call their bee-are-gee buddies and tell them about the attack.> He shrugged. <I'd like to free the family first, cause then we can all focus on the bridge-job, together... but I think if we do that, we have to do what we can to recover Duke - er, actually, it looks like his real name is James Riley... whatever. If the bee-are-gees hear that Duke is dead, they no longer need the Ja.. Mark - particularly if they also hear that someone free'd their hostages. Even if Duke-slash-James dies in the attempt, I think we need to make it look like he might have survived, and that we might have him... and that we might be able to hand him right back to the pee-dee if the bee-are-gees double-cross us. That will give them enough reason to keep Mark around and go through with the final meet... at which point, we can save the original Jay.> Scorch smirks. <If we pull off this hat-trick, our reputations should skyrocket, ne?

We need more data.
The operational areas need monitoring and coverage. I'll cover my bit as soon as we break up here, Scorch can cover his, but some of you will have to eyeball it, there always something you can pick up. I have a few small drones to help out, I'll turn them over to Scorch or Dakka'Dakka. We may see something we can put to use when we do the scouting. Details... can we actually destroy a section of the bridge? Usually takes quite a bit to do that. Can we mine the bridge with something that will disable the vehicle? Could use some road strips. Anyone know how to cut into or break into the vehicle ... cutters, saws or whatever? Someone is going to have to carry the target out. We will need to stash the target till the meet. Boat or vehicle would be fine for that. Stash the family somewhere, need a couple safehouses for tonight. Set rally points. Can we get one of the team into the escort group? Can we bribe one... I can turn one over... shouldn't have mentioned it, but it'll make the night easier During the stream of consciousness output of minor and major details a floating translucent ball of flickering ectoplasm arrived bearing a cup of coffee which she flicked out of existence as it lay the cup on the table in front of her. "Did anyone else want something from the cafe?" Scorch, can we get an editAR in this room? [ Spoiler ]

<I guess its unanimous dat Jay-one family needs to be save.> Dakka mauls over piloting a boat. He didn't have much practice with that. How hard could it be? More than likely he'll be piloting via the meat world.
<But I think we need ta put'em in da proper order. See, if we hit'em first dan the bee-are-gee ass clowns are going ta start flippin' out. Dats gonna put the first jay into some serious drek, know whatta'm sayin'?> <Dan there's us needin' to be ready to get Duke. Thats most likely the hard part of da job. Gettin' Duke, fightin' the Five-o, and gettin' away. If yo' boat can do what you say it do, dan we got a chance to get away.> He thinks for a moment on what else he can input. Listening to the other suggestions. <Safe houses I can cover. I know a few brotha's in Harlem who can produce digs for whatevah we need. Just got to supply the right kinda' motivation.> Dakka says rubbing his thumb and fore finger together. <I just need to make da calls.> On the route, <I'll get the virtual graphic layout of the area, just need ta map out da location with my drones. Probably can use Google VR map and GridGuide for some simple layouts. Plus get da low down on river traffic for da next couple hours. Once we get dat we can set up all da other important stuff.> |

Wait, that two hour login, is that a proof of life to the J, or a standard signal to the BRG that it's all clear, or that a signal to the sec system that the residents are still ok?

Scorch considered, <Hmm... could be proof of life - I hadn't thought of that. The account seems to just inspect the node's alarm, to make sure nobody has tripped it. Thus far, I haven't. I didn't see it sending any messages, but the regularity of the log ins has me thinking it must be at least two people taking shifts.> He paused for a moment. <Also, at 5am every morning, the security system is shut down for 5 minutes, and then comes back online. Haven't figured out what that is about, either - but since we won't be going in at 5 am, it is unlikely to matter.>
<I think its too late in the game to plant one of our own inside the pee-dee. That sounds awesome, though. I have id numbers for the cops assigned to the job, but without access to the pee-dee employee database, I have nothing to cross reference them with - and it is certainly safe and secure, and heavily encrypted. I had the same idea. If we could compromise one of the guards, I could mess with his head, pretty bad, and it would make the whole job a lot easier - but I don't think we'll have the chance.> <As for edit-ar, I don't think I can help you. This connection should work fine for standard DNI stuff, and I can access files and present them to you guys via simsense, but you're not going to be able to run any of your programs here - and you won't be able to interface with mine. Other than converting your thoughts to signals, and back again, you guys are just piggybacking. If someone put their commlink where I could touch it, I could tap into that too, but it can probably only run one persona at a time, so if you're looking for something where we can all whiteboard ideas, we may just want to go to someplace less public where everyone can use their own 'links.> |

<Oh, and, we still need a way to make sure the whole sha-bang gets pinned on neo-anarchists... which is a pretty fuzzy requirement. Odds are, the cops would consider anyone firing rocket launchers at them to be neo-anarchists. They probably consider the bee-are-gees to be neo-anarchists too... and I'm guessing they'll be the first group to come to mind with a motive for springing Duke from custody.> The AR seems to flicker slightly, before returning to normal. <So, I'm probably missing something, since it was the bee-are-gees who asked us to make it look like a neo-ay job.>

Do we have a safe place for one of you to keep an eye on me while I go a reconaissance? The best would be if we could drive near the target areas. Scorch can keep us all hooked up securely as we work out the details. we have things to find out, and we can have a final run through in a few hours after we find out more.

At the suggestion of the Dire Radiant, Scorch agreed to look for the PD's most-wanted, and gather some candidates for impersonation. As the team continued to plan out a timeline for the evening, and discuss various options, Scorch leaned back in his chair, making sure he wouldn't fall out when his body went slack, and urged everyone to maintain physical contact. A second later, he fell unconscious, and his AR icon began to glow with intensity. Small, unreadable symbols and windows flashed through the node - becoming slightly distracting - as Scorch spent the next five minutes sifting through the content of various public nodes. He occasionally took a small packet of information from the stream, and set it aside, where it became large enough for the team to get a good look and was translated into simsense that they could understand.
When Scorch blinked his eyes and sat up straight, a small pile of data remained - all of which the team had reviewed at some point. There were two or three other viable neo-anarchist gangs, but the clear "winner" of the NYPD's Most Wanted was the Blood Roses. That came as no surprise, but the fact that Mark Carter, a.k.a. Jay-One, was also a detective for the PD came as a surprise to everyone. <Every time we look deeper into this, it gets more complicated. I don't think this information changes our priorities, much, but we might have an in with the PD if we can identify someone Carter was close to - maybe a partner.> His AR flickered again, as frustration showed on his face. <I feel like we could do a lot more, and make it a lot cleaner, but we just don't have the time. What do you guys think? Should we proceed with the initial recon, and move on to rescuing the Carter women, or should I try to dig up who his partner was, and Vamp can talk him into giving us access to the information we need?> |

<I think ta only way we're goin' ta make this any cleaner is get the first Jay back. He should be grateful to fix a few loose ends for us.> Dakka puts out for the rest. <Maybe someone should play dat partner angle... couldn' hurt to see what pops up.>
He's back to keeping his hand on with the others to see what other ideas comes up in the conversation. He brings up his hidden commlink and puts in a call to another Fixer; BIG DeeDee. They were on the formal basis of their relationship, like with Sammy, but she did most of her stuff out of Harlem. She was good and he hope she could help him out with his desire list. <Hey Big Mama I need a favor. My team and me needa' place to crash with some special cargo. Prefer something nice with no-noisy neighbors because the cargo will stick out if you know what I mean. This is rush job too, short on time and need to know if you can swing. Nothin' but love, Dakka'Dakka.> |

Sometime later.
The team was considering all the options, which was good. There were a lot of players, and they would need to deal with all the permutations and consequences. Things were back in the groove. The Blood Rose Gang was a write off, a tool. A scrap fought over by the players with bigger stakes. The other two, there were possibilities, their rivalry could be exploited. The key would be to keep the team clear from the fallout. Unlike last time. That had been a mess, they hadn't listened, and the body count was atrocious. Dismissing her remembrances of things past, The Dire Radiant slipped free of her body, shifted her aura to match the denizens of the astral, and screamed into a 1 kilometer high ascent and paused to admire the view of Manhattan as she assigned all her watchers to the team. Then she went to take a look. |

As he awaits the response from the fixer, Dakka checks his inventory for the first run of the night to bust out the family. Looks like they would be going in with the drones with the non-lethal ordance, backed up by the drones with the lethal stuff. Dakka did not want to take the chance on hurting the folks they were to be rescuing.

September 16th, 2072 Approaching Park Terrace West 4:15 PM After the team did a little reconnaissance, they followed the directions Scorch fed them, to the location of the house where the Carter family was being held. In the back of Dakka's van, Scorch made himself comfortable before opening himself up to the flood of sensations that came with hot-sim virtual reality. A moment later, while the van was still blocks away, Scorch found himself standing amid the building's security node, and began to look around and make sure everything was as he left it. |

September 16th, 2072 The docks Sometime around 4:00 PM Before heading out, Yargo grabs another large coffee and muffin. Yargo then provides Dakka directions to the dock where his boat is. As the group approaches, there see what appears to be a standard fishing boat, with Fish in my Pocket written on the front. Well, here we are. Home sweet home. I'll be right back, unless anyone of you want to stop in for a bit while I get my stuff together? Yargo will hed in. If anyone joins him, he shows them about, and tell a few fish stories. He is quick to gather the following items: Glasses w/Flare Compensation, Image Link, Smartlink, Vis Enchancement 3 1 cigar for each runner 1 Spare clip (for ArmTech MGL-6) w/Fragmentation Grenades 1 Spare clips (for Ares Predator IV) w/gel rounds Grenade Bandoleer (holds 5 spare grenades) w/3 Fragmentation and 2 High Explosive Grenades Sholder Strap for Enfield GL-67 Case for Spare Grenades (holds 20 grenades) w/4 Fragmentation, 4 High Explosive, 4 White Phosphorus, 4 Flash Bang, and 4 Gas Grenades w/Breathtaker Enfield GL-67 Grenade Launcher loaded w/5 Fragmentation, 5 High Explosive, 5 White Phosphorus, and 5 Thermal Smoke Grenades ArmTech MGL-6 currently loaded with 6 Gas Grenades w/Breathtaker Ares Predator IV loaded w/regular ammo Mace Armored Jacket (Modifications/Notes: Fire Res 3, Insulation 3, Nonconductivity 3) Form-Fitting Body Armor - Full-Body Suit SecureTech PPP System - Vitals Protector As he heads out of the boat, he does his best to hide his GL-67 under his coat, just in case any eyes are looking in his direction. He also locks down his boat and heads to the vehicle. Alright, I sure hope I didn't foget anything. If no runners when went him, he'll go over everything that he has on him. Oh, and one more thing Yargo begins to pass out the cigars. With a big yellow smile In celebration, once we finish the cluster run! Ha! He then slaps Scorch and Vamp on the shoulder in excitement. |

Dakka would make the rounds to help Yargo get his gear. Wouldn't do no good for their street-sam if he went in with a club with a nail stuck in it. Dakka didn't need to go back to the shop for much, he already had his drones and they were armed. Plenty enough fire support to help the team out in pinch. AFter Yargo deals out the cigars, Dakka nods his thanks, saying, "Word. Lets do this thang and crack the NY-five-O one next."
If no one had any other stops to make. Dakka sets course for their hostage rescue. He wonder if this was going to be the harder of the two. After all they were dealing with hard core gangers who took women and children hostage. Despite the fact they were Stooges for Lonestar. He didn't like that at all. He didn't like the fact that two security companies were fighting over turf and causing all sorts of trouble. Dakka figures that screwing both of them was a good way to get back at them. He knew how they were going to stick it to New York, but Lonestar was still a little out of their reach. At least for now. |

The docks 4:20 PM As Dakka helped Yargo with his gear on the boat a message came through from his fixer. "Lockup at 39-25 21st Street, Long Island City, New York. Send code "AT423D as you approach to gain entry. Cost (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) 500 for the use per 24 hours. Best i can do on short notice. It is secure. September 16th, 2072 Park Terrace West 6:15 PM Park Terrace sits in a fairly affluent residential part of Manhattans Inswood. The road itself is fairly well traveled by family SUV's and saloon cars. Regular cul-de-sacs sit off the side of the street to provide a more secluded living experience level. The cul-de-sac you want, where the residence sits, is a small one with 4 houses total all of a similar size. No.80 sits in the corner of the cul-de-sac slighty set back with well trimmed low (about 2ft) hedges out the front. The grass though is in need of some maintenance, clearly having not been tendered for a few days. You pull the van off the road just past the cul-de-sac entrance. The house is approximately 50yds from your location. Street lights provide the only light in the darkness. Several houses have lights on showing that the neighbours are home. In the distance sirens can be heard. Dakka deployed the roto drones which currently sit above the house circling at approx 100 -150ft. Nothing was moving out in the street near the house. The kitchen, Dining room and family room lights were on. Upstairs 1 bedroom light blazed behind drawn curtains. Scorch logged into the Security system. All was quiet. Cameras show 2 men in the family room. The Foyer camera pans to show what looks like a woman and child at a table in the Breakfast room with two more men present. Upstairs is empty as is the garage. A 5th man moves into view in the kitchen, back turned to you, he moves to the table and drops a pan or two onto the table. The Active pans of the girl and woman can be seen. The rest seem to be running in hidden mode. The Security system shows that the last log on was at 4:30PM. According to the regularity you expect the next logon to be around 6:30PM - approximately 15mins from now. It looks like you have 5 men plus the two hostages contained within two rooms of the downstairs. No large firearms visible to you. From your estimation it will take you an hour to get back to the boat from here and a further 20minutes from the harbor to the Queensborough bridge. Given that you have approximately 1.5hrs to deal with the situation here before you need to get yourselves over to the bridge and your stake out. |

Park Terrace West 6:15 PM These ass clowns are going to die tonight. Hostages are for cowards. Yargo looks around at the other runners Who's coming with me, and what help can you provide? Right now, I plan on going in the front door, take out the two in the family room with two quick flash-bang grenades...nothing wrong with a little overkill. It may be a little loud, but the family will be ok. I guess I'm not sure what to do next. If I could be invisible, I could probably take the other three out with my mace or pistol. They better not grab the wife and kid or they'll feel more pain. |

"I'm coming in behind you with the drone. I'll head for da ktichen and delay the clowns in da kitchen." Dakka says patting the Doberman he selected for the mish. The roto drones were doing their job keeping an aerial view of the location.

September 16th, 2072 Park Terrace West 6:15 PM Yargo sticks his MGL-6 to his hip, then straps his mace to his back. He'll also bring his Predator with. Finally he picks up ole Betsy. After discussing support... Thanks guys for the help! Now lets rock at roll. Yargo puts on his glasses, puts some head phones in his ear and turns on some Goblin Rock (not too loud though). He steps out of the van and starts to quietly approaching the house. As he approaches the front door, he'll confirm with Scorch that the two gangers are still in the family room. |

Dakka drone quickly follows after Yargo, for now tagging a long as it follows the merc towards the house at a reasonable distance. It was racing up there, trying to keep itself quite before they make their entrance. Dakka signals the roto-drones to take up firing positions facing the twos entrance into the house. Should anyone see them and start firing the drones would be there to take care of that problem.
