So, the underbarrel weapon mod in Arsenal.
1) Within the limitations specifically imposed, can the underbarrel weapon accept weapon modifications? 2) Do the 3 modification slots come from the parent weapon, the underbarrel weapon, or both? See? Pretty easy. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

2. Only the parent weapon. |

And an additional question I forgot to include earlier:
In the descriptions of certain drones, such as the Crimson Samurai and the Nimrod, they respectively are listed as being able to carry an Assault Cannon (former) and a rocket launcher (latter). However, they don't have the reinforced weapon mounts to do so. So: A) No one was paying attention when the flavor text was written. B) The stats are incorrect, and the weapon mounts in question really are supposed to be reinforced. C) There was supposed to be a vehicle mod allowing a normal weapon mount to be upgraded to a reinforced mount, but it was left out of the book. What do you think? |

I assume at least one of the two on the nimrod should be reinforced mounts and the one on the crimson samurai as well.

C) There was supposed to be a vehicle mod allowing a normal weapon mount to be upgraded to a reinforced mount, but it was left out of the book. You CAN remove a normal weapon mount, and install a reinforced weapon mount, but it would eat up a lot of modification slots to do so. Also, a body 4 drone can have a reinforced weapon mount, but could not support both a reinforced weapon mount and a normal weapon mount, or two reinforced weapon mounts by the modification rules - so although the Nimrod mentions having two weapon mounts, one of which sounds reinforced, it would be an exception to the rule if this was the case, and not something a PC can (normally) "fix" though modification. |

The weapon mounts are built in to the chassis, and cost no slots for modification at all... See the Standard Upgrades for the respective Drones... Arsenal, Page 122-123 Keep the Faith |

Arsenal, Page 122-123 BlackHat was talking about removing the stock weapon mount and replacing it with a reinforced one. According to RAW removing a stock modification does not free up mod slots and thus the above procedure costs exactly the same amount of slots as putting a reinforced mount into a vehicle that had no stock weapon mount. |

Sorry, for that you are right (Meant to Quote AngelisStorm instead), but you would not have to remove any of the standard weapon mounts on the drone itself, as they are already spec for the weapon that they are mounting... Keep the Faith While the standard upgrades don't take up slots, if you add an additional weapon mount, it will throw you over the maximum allowed by Body. Is it your view that the default included weapon mounts (if any) don't count against the max total weapon mounts on the vehicle or drone? |

I guess that that is one way of looking at it (case by case dependent upon your GM), but it has never really come up in our game... Keep the Faith |

I've never seen a problem with upgrading a built in weapon mount for the difference in slots and cash between the two. It's not strictly RAW but seems entirely reasonable.
The problem really stems from the stupid text defining the largest weapon you can put on a normal mount. An HMG is obviously not smaller than an LMG but is a GL, is a Sniper Rifle? |

Our group kinda ballparks it, based on aprox. size and mass. Grenade launchers are "same size or smaller," as are hunting rifles (probably longer, but not as bulky). Larger machine guns, assault cannons, missile launches, and sniper rifles we decided were bigger. |
