So where do you go to get your fix when the server goes out? If it's a place that has news on what happened, all the better.

I get sucked away to an alternate universe, kinda like Mirror, Mirror.. Only there are people in suits armed with pens instead of sashes armed with knives.. Though both have their own form of agonizers.

I usually haunt some of my other favorite forums while waiting for DS to return. Palladium Books mostly. But I also check my favorite webcomic sites, like Alien Loves Predator, PS238, FreakAngels, Flaky Pastry, Girl Genius, PvP, Nerotically Yours, Something Positive, Kevin & Kell, and The Devil's Panties (no, that's not a porn site).

Let's see:
Read my usual webcomics - Penny Arcade, Dr. McNinja, XKCD, Tweep, Gunnerkrigg Court, Misfile, Questionable Content, Red String, Bad Machinery, Dead Winter, Feywinds (done by the girl who used to write the Shadowrun webcomic!). Hung out on the Penny Arcade boards. Browsed terrible fanfiction on deviantart, found a few good writers. Lurked on Facebook and Twitter and Livejournal. Hit refresh on Dumpshock LIKE A MILLION TIMES. |

Heh, I picked up a Skillwire for my Commlink so I could assimilate German. It's a German language app for my iPhone (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
Right now I'm downloading PDFs from DriveThruRPG but generally I'm over on BoardGameGeek (or GeekDo), rpg.net, or PenandPaperGames.com. Alternately I'm working on my game manager. Depends on if the muse is present or not. Carl |

I'm a huge fan of checking Paizo everyday to see what they've put up on there daily blog post. Tons of previews, art, insider insight and competitions. There model of "previews" is one I really appreciate as a fan.

As a note, the Dumpshock IRC server is hosted seperatly from the forums, so usually if one goes down, the other is still up. I haven't been able to get on much lately as I'm still without wireless on my own computer downstairs, but I still try and pop in once every day or two. Might be a good place to go if the forums go down and your eally need your SR fix (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Every time I have been in there, people are on perpetual idle. I head to ShadowRN mailing list. Most people there are friends from the golden age of Shadowrun. |

Even if there are people in the forums, no one talks shadowrun. Every time I have been in there, people are on perpetual idle. I head to ShadowRN mailing list. Most people there are friends from the golden age of Shadowrun. Yeah, part of that's because there's a handful of regulars that stay logged in pretty much permanently, but are often AFW or AFK because it can be so quiet. However, if you start up a conversation, sometimes you can get a response. It just takes people being proactive. Doesn't always work and depends on who's around, but... <shrug> As for specifically talking Shadowrun, again, that requires a conversation starter. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I know we had 6 or 8 of us on last night blathering away for an hour or two. Hrmm, maybe we should start setting up regular "Active Meeting Times" or something, schedule a Live Chat to get people online at the same time and chatting. Might be a thought. Bull |

Installed Google chrome translator extension. Was lurking the German forums, works fast and does a good job.
