In the past two missions, my orc mage has been attacked by and helped to kill a wenidgo, baldersnatch, HMVV infected troll(no idea what they're called), and an assloads of devilrats. I think i'm being foolish for letting all these potentailly useful creatures just decompose. any suggestions?

The only character I really have that hunts paranormals is more concerned with obliterating them than with what to do with the bodies.

Not every para critter has useful parts to scavenge.
Devil Rats + Kamikaze = fun at someone else's party The wendigo -- skin that sucker and you have the niftiest throw rug on the block. The Fomori -- the hm-etc troll...wow. Put that on a resume, but I think there's a bounty on those, so your character could turn those in to the local "Dangerous Critter control office." The bandersnatch is fun, but not a lot to do there. Maybe sell what's left the carcas to a research lab that may be interested in the remains. -Siege |

My players always want to make burgers and such out of them, even if I tell them that they taste like crap.
I figure that there are paranormal animals that end up in the same restaurants that serve Buffalo, Emu, Alligator, Snake, etc. |

Yeah, but c'mon -- devil rat-kebab? Yeuch -- there isn't enough ketchup to make that go down easy.
And who in their right mind is gonna nibble on a Wendigo or an HMV-infected troll? -Siege |

Heh, I can imagine it:
GM: Are you guys crazy? You could get HMHVV and turn into vampires if you eat a wendigo or a bandersnatch! Players (get dreamy looks on their faces): Mmmm... regeneration. Enhanced Attributes. Pick up goth chicks. Mmmmm. |

Last metacritter we ran into, I made friends with and brought home to live in my flat. Blackberry kitten that I call Kottr. He learned pretty quickly that his little mind tricks don't work particularly well on the 7-Will dwarven sorcerer, and also that he doesn't need them because I'll feed him anyway. Kottr makes me feel a little better about my apartment security... I figure that if anyone breaks in, then when I get back, I'll find my stuff untouched and the intruder still there, with a glazed look in their eyes, robotically opening cans of tuna for the cat.

You think that's bad -- you should look up the old thread when we added an industrial strength rubber band. The sort you use for water balloons. :grinbig: Oops on the troll -- it had to be one of them. -Siege |

It was a Dzoo-Noo-Qua.
And they ran a motorbike into it, which, of course, made it angry.... "DZO....DZOO-NO.....ME ANGRY!!!!" |

Some of my players once captured a devil rat, and proceeded to not feed it if there were any rats in their building. Since devil rats have animal control (mundane rats), they pretty much guaranteed that they wouldnt have any rat problems in the near future.

My Werecat adept would most definatly make an attempt to eat said critter raw. Makes me wonder if shape shifters are afected by HMHVV....

The last paracritter in my game was a Blackberry cat. He kept making the NPC wolf shapeshifters go dunk themselves in a nearby lake.
Thereby keeping the players from relying on them too much |

Ahh, paracritters. The Gm tool that everyone loves to hate. And I love that bit about the Blackberry Kitten. It may quite possibly end up in a game somewhere...

my lot always scavenge parts for foci or sale. I figure if you've got talismongery or artificing, foci design or even just straight enchanting in some cases, you might know of a formula which uses such and such a part, so I give my players a roll. Things like 'that werewolf tooth is useful in combat related foci, like weapon foci and spell category foci' and let them decide what to do with it. If they try to use it themselves for one of the aforementioned formula, they have to track down other bits in order to do it, or may find it only works in shamanic traditions, or whatever. Keeps things interesting, and often means they have to find a very specific kind of buyer. Stops them just going harvesting, at least, and gives them a good reason to have the skills.
