And here it is, the roughed up version of The Suit. It's pretty much a lift from his last incarnation, with added contacts:

This is excellent, thanks DH. Looking forward to seeing some of the 20 questions to go with this. I think the key ones for my purposes at the moment are

1. What happened (if anything) to you during the crash?
2. What are your principal motivations for being in the shadows (you've covered that one already i think (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rotate.gif) )
3. What are your short term goals?
4. Any long term goals?
5. Any family / friends that are important enough for walking plot hooks?

The rest can be filled in through RP as we go or can be added as and when...

Any problems with me taking similar, low connectivity contacts as groups (IE: prostitutes, bums)?

I think this could be justified if they are from a single geographical area in Seattle and could reasonably interact as a group...I don't know the answer but Johnny over there might have seen something if you stand him a soyburger...

ok. 3 last questions. I should have something ready for you this evening.

1) Optional rule: Adept Geasa. Is it in affect? (basically, a geasa for an adept power reduces the pp cost by 25%)

2) Are we doing any special rules for initiation at buildtime? (IE: 2 karma/Bp, one initiation at buildtime, etc. etc?)

3) Empathy software: As written, only for judge intention tests, or not at all?

1. Ok, no problems with this one.
2. I'm prepared to allow one or two levels of initiation at the start. I'm not sure if there are any main rules for this (anyone?) but 2 karma per BP sounds reasonable to me.
3. Again, would have to look this one up but 'as written' will probably be the way to go. Given that the rules are going to be secondary to good story in the game it might boil down to GM whim or how you want to tell the story of using the software.

Hope that's answered as clearly as i can for now

There are no rules expressly written for Initiation at build IIRC, but 2 Karma for BP is the going rate in just about every game I've seen.

If someone shows up to a meet with the The Suit with a blooming emotitoy, he will have Gabriel shoot them and mail a spot of DNA to each of their loved ones.

I've never been overly fond of the emotitoys. However, empathy software with a disguised camera strikes me as a valid tactic for faces, and the prices are less ridiculous for that than the basic emotoys...

CD is looking great! My only real comments are that the contacts that i listed in one of my original posts come free to the group so you can recoup those points to spend on yet more contacts if you want? Thanks for putting in the effort to work out your connection to them though. Are you happy to be the new member coming to the 'fraternity' ?

Thanks for this! We should be about ready to roll out the initial encounter just after Easter if that suits everyone. Crank and Mickle...how are you guys getting on?

Thanks for the review, I'll think about what I might do with that then. It'll be useful to have some contacts focused on other areas.

sorry about that. RL caught up, and disease showed up for a visit, and things got a little crazy there. On the plus side, SC's slowly getting there.

Sorry, but I think I'm going to have to bow out of this one. It sounds like a cool concept, but I've taken on too many other games while trying to run my own.

No problem Crank, I'll keep your slot open for a bit and you can possibly step in later on if you get some more time.

If it's ok I'd like to keep the back story for the free contacts, and I'll switch those points to some new contacts, and add some back story for them too of course.

IC Posting ‘Rules’

I’m going to adopt a slightly amended version of what seems to be normal on the DS boards so hopefully it won’t cause too much confusion. This isn’t set in stone yet and I’d welcome any comments you have.

Local time, date and approx location (bold & orange) – obvious enough

POV and PAN mode (grey) – I’d like you to tell me whose point of view you are writing from (third or first person don’t mind which) as I want you to be able to ‘tell the story’ from multiple angles if you want. Usually it will be your main character but you might also want to tell it from the perspective of one of your contacts or even a passer by in the street (might be interesting!). I’ll also use this so that you know which NPC I’m talking through. If POV is N/A then I’ll be the GM voice setting the scene but I’m not sure yet how often I’ll do it that way and how often through an NPC.

# Newsflash # (normal) – eg. # Newsflash – Dunklezahn sighted in diner in Memphis – source Memphis Star # This bit is optional and will add a bit of colour to the game but I will also use it to drop clues, red herrings etc. You can use it for generating plot hooks, being silly or anything else! Sources could be KASF, Horizon Media or any other outlet from the SR world

“Speech” (cyan) – speech marks please, makes my job easier if I copy stuff in to word to work on it offline.

<<Digital Comms>> (yellow) – as the usual posting rules

Everything else (normal) – and that’s it, any thoughts or other stuff can be in here.

20 questions on

Dryden "Smooth Criminal" "SC" Mitchell

[ Spoiler ]

I had full paragraphs for each of the contacts, but lost power before I could save it. I'll get them re-expanded upon when I have the will to do so.

The character is completed. I'll get him posted when I finish translating him from excel into a simple text format, but I wanted to get this much up now.

TO Aria: do you have an e-mail I can send the excel file to? it'd give you a chance to start looking over him so that you can ask any questions you might have...
