Auckland, New Zealand 2) Does your character have a family? Yes. His mother ,Heather, and father, Allen, live a quiet life in Wellsford, north of Auckland. His sister Angela, works for Ares R&D in Auckland. He had no real kinship with anyone until meeting “Wynona” in Lagos. She seems to be a gearhead much like Solo, and over time they have become very close. He cares deeply for her, and sees himself as her protector. She is hard-headed, but at the same time a little innocent for the area they live. 3) Does your character have an ethnic background? Solo has a mild Aussie accent, but most would be hard pressed to single him out as a New Zealander. APPEARANCE 4) What does your character look like? Solo is about 5'10” and has black hair that he wears in a short fade. His cybereyes look almost human were it not for the dark silver color of the irises. To get a good vision of him, think Hugh Jackman in “Australia”. 5) What does your character dress like? He most often wears a dark purple shirt with blue jeans, and combat boots. Add to this a black leather vest, and black Aussie-style fedora. If the weather isn't hot, he also wears a dark brown armored duster. When in less than ideal company, about everywhere in Lagos, he carries two Ares Predators in low slung, hip holsters, and two Hammerli 620s in quick-draw shoulder holsters. 6) Does your character have physical quirks? Due to a lot Hot Sim, and his Move-By-Wire systems, his hands tend to midly shake when he is not doing anything. SKILLS, ATTRIBUTES, AND RESOURCES 7) Where did your character learn their Active Skills? Solo learned most of his rigging skills while I the service with the Australian Military. Once he finished his time in service as a pilot (helos and LAVs), he got in with Knight Errant, with some help from his sister who works at Ares, and worked as a Wasp/Yellowjacket pilot and in high-level security operations. He honed his skills as a mercenary fighting over the oil fields and pipeline in Nigeria. Being the outdoor type, he has learned how to survive and even thrive when in the wild. 8 ) Where did your character learn their Knowledge Skills? Most of his knowledge was gathered as a soldier and mercenary. Other bits from being a smuggler. 9) Where did your character get his goodies? A lot of his cyberware came from his time as a pilot in military and security forces. He added his Hot-sim Module to increase his edge as a merc pilot. Solo added the sleep regulator during his time as a smuggler, as it helps with the long hauls across Africa. 10) Where does your character live? Solo lives on the edges of the Ikeja and Ifako-Ijaye divisions in Lagos. He has a run-down warehouse that is part home/part mechanic shop. It also has room for his vehicles. “Wynona” live here as well, and he makes sure to keep up the payments on the place. He pays the local Hawala and Area Boys enough to keep his place safe. Anyone willing to pass through them have to face a lot of physical security. Like gun turrets and claymores. He's come home on a couple of occasions to find blast marks and shrapnel littering the fence-line. He has also been known to help the Daughters of Yemaja in helping to smuggle girls out of Lagos. Though not a freebie, he gives discounts to them since they are actually trying to help. 11) Who are your character's contacts? Solo's closest contacts in Lagos are Dumaka, a Hawala he has done business with, and for, on many occasions. True to their word, they are honorable people. Though, as always in Lagos, there is a price to be paid or earned in dealings with them. Sometimes both. Adesina, a shaman and Daughter of Yemaja, has provided Solo with a paying jobs when times were rough. Though not the best earnings, running girls up north and out of Lagos, has been relatively cleansing for his spirit. Wynona, who has also made friends with Adesina, approves of the Daughters and often helps ease Solo into helping them when they can. Once when a bounty hunter came to collect on Solo, Adesina healed the gaping hole Solo had in his chest. The bounty hunter was not nearly so lucky. 12) Who are your character's enemies? Solo has had bounties stuck on his head by John Wilmont, his former CO. John would love to see him dead in a gutter, but is unlikely to get his own hands dirty. One of the local slave traders still has Solo in debt for a load of girls he "misplaced". Not knowing what the cargo was at first, he went along with it, and promptly handed them over to the Daughters once out of Lagos. The Daughters made sure he would not be harmed for "losing" the girls, but he's still in debt. He pays what he can, shen he can, but refuses to do any more work for the bastard. 13) What is you character's attitude toward magic? Not his cup a' tea, but, he doesn't begrudge anyone their joys or pursuits in life. Just don't go all mumbo-jumbo on me when it isn't needed. PERSONALITY 14) What are your character's likes and dislikes? Solo is a gear-head and an outdoors-man. He doesn't dislike the city , he prefers being away form it when he can. He enjoys sitting back and watching the stars at night by a campfire. He loves to fly as well, though his opportunities at the moment are rare. He enjoys playing cards with Wynona, when on runs through the jungle or savannah. They both enjoy tinkering with his Roadmaster and Rover at their shop. 15) What is your character's moral code? Solo will not knowingly kill an innocent sentient. Once someone takes a shot at him though, the kid gloves are off, and he doesn't use gel rounds. He will always try to fulfill his end of any deal, and will not take kindly to someone squelching on their end. While a bit rough around the edges, he doesn't like what he does. Well, sometimes he does, but it's usually when he's screwing over the higher ups. 16) Does your character have goals? Solo is working to make sure he and Wynona, are able to live a longer, more peaceful life together. His biggest goal is to get a trust set up that will indefinitely pay for a secure nexus for Wynona. Right now though, he just trying to pay off a debt from a bad run. To help in furthering his long term goals, he hopes to eventually re-acquire a Utility Helicopter or (in his dreams) a T-bird. Both would make runs faster and more profitable. 17) Does your character have personal beliefs? Solo at best, is indifferent to religion. Sure there's probably something greater out there, but what it is, he's not trying to figure out. He does not believe people should be slaves, or that those with wealth should use it to make the poor even more so. 18) Does your character have personality quirks? He calls his Roadmaster “The Beast” and his Rover “Rex”. Unless Wynona is in them. Then they both revert to “Wynona”. RUNNING THE SHADOWS 19) Why does your character run the shadows? Once he mustered out of the military, Solo went to work as a merc in the Desert Wars and later in Nigeria, fighting for and among the oil fields and pipelines. His commander sold-out to a corporate enemy, and sent half his unit on a suicide mission against a waiting enemy force. This tactic was used to get their employer to send most of personal troops in as well. During the ensuing massacre, Solo figured out what happened. Knowing what happened he pulled his Banshee out, found his CO's flank team that never appeared and proceeded to empty his entire weapons payload into them. By the time he was done, he had destroyed most of the team, dumped the near dead Banshee, and earned a reprimand from the Merc Association. Since then his old CO has occasionally placed bounties on his head, but never went after him actively, to avoid the Merc Association from digging into the incident too deeply. 20) How does your character view his/her role as a shadowrunner? It's a living... Right better to make the best of it, than freeze like a dingo in the headlights, when things ain't goin' how you think they should. Besides, there's plenty of time to enjoy the outdoors; maybe bag a pricey critter once in a while. What the hell else is going to pay the kind of money I need right now, anyway? Member No.: 4,302	Noboru's English is not as accented as one might expect, given his sometimes over the top use of one in his movies... silly Hollyweird, feeding into a man's desire to be someone he is not. As for his ear for accents, well I do imagine the fact he is a linguist will help him better than it'll help me in deciphering the Aussie. I'll also consider myself blessed Solo's not a Kiwi... seriously, I used to work at a broadcast center where we had to shift frequencies for a station in NZ, and every time the Kiwis called it was like a wall of indecipherable chipperness with numbers thrown in.

Should have worked, but it still credits me with the cost of the items I use up. The only thing I can think of for now is to keep track of the costs and deduct them from the nuyen award at the end of a 'session'. Seems pretty awkward.

Runner Group: Members Posts: 2,666 Joined: 29-February 08 From: Scotland Member No.: 15,722	He's concealed under a Manascape spell to hide all the spells, foci, etc. You'll have to penetrate the illusion first, which you shouldn't have any trouble doing, it's only 5 hits on Will + Counterspelling to overcome the spell. I'm assuming you have an Ally from your posts so you'll get to add Aid Sorcery dice as well. Once you've seen through that he's using Extended Masking and I honestly haven't looked the mechanics up for that, I'll do that later while I'm offline again.

No, Yazata doesn't have an Ally. What he has is a mixed relationship with the spirits he summons, as per the description of the Zoroastrian Tradition in Street Magic. Zoroastrians walk a fine line between evil and good when they truck with spirits. I could play Yazata so that he "summons only good spirits", but what fun would that be? This way I get to poke at him and his goody-two-shoes attitude using the odd 'demonic' spirit that shows up. EDIT: The Guardian spirit currently Invoked is a bit on the 'demonic' side. It will continually taunt Yazata and suggest uses of his power that are not in line with his ethics and morals. The bound Earth spirit is the opposite.

From the account privileges, you've been given some freedom to access the nodes of the facility. However, many areas deeper into the network are restricted.
