QUOTE (Unwired p. 147) Sprite Link By choosing this echo, the technomancer gains the ability to compile and register one additional species of sprite (beyond the five basic sprites of his stream). This echo can be chosen multiple times. Does this mean that technomancers can ONLY compile/register sprites within their stream? I don't see this specifically stated anywhere else. Edit: fixed quote tags. |

Unwired, Streams in the TM chapter. The allowed Sprite types are listed with every stream. It's like with magical traditions, only that mages do not get sich metamagic, because 'mancers just need to be sued some more.
Good thing there's this limit, ridiculously pimped and overrated as 'mancers already are. Too bad they have Echos to rule them all, thanks to Unwired, but at least that way it bleeds them of Karma. |

QUOTE (Unwired) Each stream can compile five sprites that represent the focus of the stream to certain aspects of the Matrix But hey, just create your own stream with the five sprites you need most (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

Yes because technomancers are totally overused compared to the game full of people with magic attributes because even though magic users make up less thena percentage point of the population they make up at least half of every table i've ever sat at. Sorry this just rubbed me wrong, yes technomancers absolutely excel in their area of expertise but comparing their power level to spellcasters is just silly. |

The one of being able to connect into a computer without the need of technology. It's not magic but it can be seen like magic for many people. |

As stated many, many times, Shadowrunners are outliers. Their population ratios are not the same as the outside world's population. They also have more scary monsters and metahumans, more hackers and technomancers per capita, more cybernetically-enhanced killing machines, more people with a Panther Assault Cannon tucked in their closet, and pretty much every other concept/archetype amongst their numbers than the outside world does, too. Do you get just as uppity by the lack of proportional wageslaves and street bums at a gaming table, too? 2. Just because players prefer one type of character more than another, that doesn't mean the less popular one isn't ridiculously powerful or outright broken. Same goes for specialists vs. generalists. Someone said it really nicely in a signature; it's just flat out bizarre how you can do nearly anything you can imagine with the Matrix without limitation, but the Magic system is highly restrictive and overburdened by limitations. Machine Sprites, alone, are sick. |

QUOTE Machine Sprites, alone, are sick. WORD. I don't like the Technomancer concept to begin with, but making them into FUCKING NEO was a stupid move on par with the stupid fanboyism in the new Blood Angels codex. |
