I just got the pdf and made my first character, a guy that grew up on the scumbarges, is an anarchocapitalist criminal with a rather customized ghost morph. I have to say I've never picked up a game and had so much fun just building a character!

I have to say I've never picked up a game and had so much fun just building a character! Agreed! There's a thread over on RPG.Net where people are posting characters and I added my first character over there. Dhiraj Visvakarahn, Lunar underworld assassin and survivor from New Mumbai. I'm working on my second character now: Virgil, a re-instantiated trauma psychosurgeon resleeved by the Titanian Commonwealth. |

Agreed. I made like a dozen characters the first week I found out about the game. Now to find a PBP....

My wife and I have been doing a freeform game for... about five years now (about 4-8 hours a day, started in 1890. I mean, game time, 1890.)
Funny thing is, early last year, we made it to 2050, Mars, where the character was uploaded to a computer. Now she's insisting we use the 'uploaded character', advance the timeline, and play an EP setting. Give me another few months and I'll have played more Eclipse Phase than the designers (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) |

Hi Adam
Couple Questions 1. Why so many skills? I mean most of the system is fairly simple but there are a lot of skills and big numbers (like the attributes) that may turn off people who were actually looking for something simple. I love the mesh rules btw. 2. Is there anything you feel is needed from the fan community, ie character builder, adventures? I really would like to throw out some free stuff, I'm just not sure what to work on first. |

1. I've pointed Rob towards this thread, but he's super-busy with Sunward right now.
2. I'm going to try spinning this into a longer blog post. I really don't like the idea of saying "I want fans to write more adventures/gear/NPCs" because I want to see what fans think is useful -- that helps guide us, points out the strengths/weaknesses of the game, etc. |

Yes. Most books and other design documents are produced using layers -- one for the background, one for text, one for art, etc. The new PDFs preserve those layers so the user can choose which ones to hide and which to display, which can speed up browsing, printing, use less ink, etc. That sounds fantastic. Looking forward to seeing how that works out. |

Just downloaded the PDF and read "Lack." Amazing--the first piece of game fiction that made me immediately want to play a game. I can tell the rest of this is going to be fantastic.
EDIT: I generally refuse to get PDFs as I dislike reading pages upon pages of text on a screen. But so far I have not been able to -stop- reading this. Can't wait to get some extra cash so I can afford the book(s)... |

I've been foaming at the mouth to get the print versions of the GM Screen and Sunward. I like PDFs for the ability to search through quickly but I like to have stuff to hold in my hand as well.

Me too. I need to get my hands on a print copy of the core book. The PDF is great, but I like to be able to hold something in my hands when I'm flipping back and forth in a book. Also, EP really needs a forum like Dumpshock. There's not enough action on the official EP forums to distract me like this forum does and for some reason, I find the EP forums clumsy to navigate in. |

I can agree to that. I suspect Posthuman wouldn't complain about a fan-made site. The question is, how to start.
Would it be possible to fork Redjack? |

We're looking at some changes to the EP forums as we make some other site changes over the next few months.
And of course, we have no objections to fan-made *anything* |

Been waiting forever to get a hardcopy. I'm in the camp that needs a hardcopy to lug around. It's great searching a pdf but I like sit around a table and fight over who get's the book next. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

You can avoid that fight by buying multiple copies. Gaming is better when everyone has the core book. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
