The 80s visually and culturally were the primordial soup that produced Shadowrun. This influence is especially clear in SR1, still the greatest edition. This thread is for posting awesome 80s music videos that get you all pumped up to play Shadowrun. I'll start it off, you contribute.
Self Control - Laura Branigan - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5IyAGpooGko...feature=related The Warrior - Scandal - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XDuWFYOTyqA I Ran - Flock of Seagulls - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUjIA3Rt7gk...feature=related (See, in my opinion, this music video almost says it all about 80s orientalism. I think that one of my secret deep desires is to put on kabuki face makeup and GM a D&D 1st edition game of Oriental Adventures, where "karate" is capable of doing 1d6 damage per punch.) Japanese Boy - Aneka - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCH1IlOfDTM (You've heard of the "Scottish Play", but I refer to this as the "Scottish Disaster". I think that it actually contains lethal doses of orientalism with affects similar to those of radiation poisioning.) Good Enough - Cyndi Lauper - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5kMi9tvuuZY (I prefer to end on a positive note...80s music and such pro wrestling luminaries as Captain Lou Albano. That kind of gets you transitioned into wanting to play Shadowrun first edition.) |

... meanwhile, somewhere warm and outside the Sprawl.... What's possibly more embarrassing for me than loving this video and owning all their albums is the fact that I used to own those sunglasses.... |

EMI blocked... Duran Duran, Hungry Like The Wolf. Here's one outside of EMI's channel. Work blocked it on you or you blocked EMI yourself? |

Hmm I was a metal head in the 80's oh hell what am I saying..I still am. But Queensryche (Mind Crime and Empire) and KMFDM set SR for me. As well as some bands from over the pond. Some of these vids may slip into early nineties but then so did SR.
