Amazon has DotA: Darkest up with an August 4th date. Given Amazon's track record for Street Dates on RPG books in general, I'd say that one has about as much worth as the September 30th 2012 street date listed on this product. When presented with a lack of information from the maufacturer or distributor, they fall back on the time honored tradition of making shit up. And say what you will about CGL, but they've never told Amazon a street date that they didn't first announce on their website. |

Here's a question. I have the original Runner's Companion; I picked it up from Barnes & Noble (with a member discount) rather than paying $50+ for it on Amazon. Honestly, is it worth it to buy the reprint? If there's significant corrections or new material I may well do it. But just a few changes isn't worth the investment.

No. The number of corrections could easily be scribbled in the margins, attached with sticky notes, etc.

Whether I buy another paper copy depends on the nature and number of corrections.
Will there be an updated/corrected PDF?, and how do I get it? (I bought my PDF from BattleCorps in August 2008) |

Since I'll have the updated HC, I'll not need the pdf as much and for those times I do I can create an errata sheet.

(I bought my PDF from BattleCorps in August 2008) Whenever an new PDF is published, you will get an e-mail with a link to the updated version... or at least that's how it has been with previous PDFs. No. The number of corrections could easily be scribbled in the margins, attached with sticky notes, etc. This is only true if they release a PDF that lists the changes/corrections. Otherwise, how are people going to know what needs to be stickied scribbled. Jason, can we expect something that details the changes, or do you expect us to just go buy another copy to figure out what minor changes were made? |

I certainly wouldn't expect people to buy another copy simply to find minor changes. Adam has said changes were made to about 3-4 pages--I don't have any information beyond that. I'll check in to see what I can find. Jason H. |

any word on when SR runner's toolkit will be coming out? If memory serves it was announced at the same time as SR4A, which was well over a year ago. Seeing as how people are just now getting the LE of that book (which was printed last summer) I wouldn't hold my breath too much. It might be something to look at if it ever hits the shelves, until then its not too different than Shadows of Latin America IMO. |

any word on when SR runner's toolkit will be coming out? We'll have a street date when it's ready, but until then we try to avoid attaching dates to things. I think I can safely say that it's third in line (though the line is not always strict) after Corp Guide and 6WA. Jason H. |

I just want to know if the Shapechanger's Table is fixed?
It currently has a Leopard having Advanced Sight while an Eagle has a sense of smell. |

I agree Amazon can a be a pain, as when I ordered my toolkit, it stated it would take a week to ship..
2 days later, amazon jumped the shipping up 4 months, though my order was still a week now amazon says it will contact me when the runner's toolkit is avaible now there is the info on CGLs about new books shipping, and reprints of old stuff... hence my wonderment on the state of the runner's toolkit thanx for the reply & I hope things get moving soon |

Amazon makes shit up. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
AFAIK, CGL doesn't deal directly with Amazon, so anything they get, they're getting from someplace else (Or seling through one of their "partners" who most likely got it someplace else). So beware getting anything directly through them. Bull |

Hopefully that means my pre-order of SR4A-LE should show up sometime soon. Congrats to the (remaining) people at CGL on getting things unsnarled in what has GOT to be record time if even half the wilder rumors have ANY basis in fact whatsoever. Like they said: Let's see that Almanac! I got my pre-order last week. |

wow, I'm glad I was reading this! I was so close to going and grabbing a copy. lol You still should. Yes, it has some things people do not like(SURGE, Infected, Sapient Critters, AIs, Free Spirits). It also has the advanced Lifestyles rules, more positive and negative traits that are pretty useful, a great section for newer players detailing more info about the 6th world and how runner fit into it(while it is not something vets are going to immediately jump after, it is useful for new players), and it has the priority and karma-based chargen systems. That said, while I would likely never play an Infected or Free Spirit, I have come up with concepts for AIs, Pixies (one of the sapient critters), and a couple great concepts using SURGE. Overall, I have found Runner's Companion to be a great resource. |
