uhhh okay some one is actually interested we'll here's what I've got:

2064 Boston “In the wake of the Comet” Shadowrun 3rd Edition

Come and be a part of Shadowrun in the North East 2064. Explore the barrens of Worchester, run the tunnels under Boston, and smuggle goods into the Free city of Cambridge.

Boston has changed and changed a lot. The historic buildings are still there, the streets are still there but nothing is as it was or ever will be. Apparitions haunt the steps of Beacon Hill. Free roaming creatures hunt in the tunnels under Boston. Toxic spirits seek revenge in Everett and Worchester, cities in ruins and toxicity. The death of Dukelzah has opened up ancient pathways to this world. New horrors approach Boston from the rift to the south. Arkham holds many mysterious secrets and Salem is a city in conflict and strife. The surge has lit the fires of change while the corporate masters, such as Omnitech decide what company they’ll devour next.

The organized families seek to run the city Government. Anarchists of old seek to fight the corruption. The spirit of Venzetto is alive. Plague, war, strife have changed Boston making it a faint memory of what we knew. Ghost ships fire volleys at the Constitution from far off wisps of dreams. Gangs rule the night hunting and prey upon helpless in the mid city barrens.

Tribes of the awakened world no longer ride horses but look down on the city below from their million dollar condos and gold gilded board rooms. They fight now without primitives arms of the past, using money, power and influence gained from funds gained over the decades. The spirits of their ancestors haunt far off woods acting as harbingers of the coming horrors.

The dark woods of New Hampshire are hungry for flesh and sewers hide black commerce by day and night. Boston is a city of dichotomies. For those who can afford it, the city offers a quality of life unequaled in the UCAS. For the poor, who seek only a fair subsistence, the city is a dark prison. As a Shadowrunner you walk the line between worlds acting as a pawn and evolving and changing in a non stop game of chess. From the Menino syndicate to the spas of the Mohegan’s you walk the line between luxury and poverty.
Campaign Info:

Campaign to meet on a Saturday or Sunday every three weeks at Danger Planet Games in Waltham, MA. Interested parties should message me for more information on character creation and interest. The campaign will take place in areas primarily in the North East focusing primarily on Boston and the surrounding cities. Some runs may take players to Rhode Island, New Hampshire and New York. Primarily I try to make the games I run fun while trying to tell a bigger story. I like to keep things a little light and prefer players who are laid back. If you’re interested email me with questions or comments.

What is Boston 2064 going to be like? PART 2.

When I first moved up here I lived with my Grandfather for a short while. The one thing he talked about almost every time I saw him was a story about the Great Depression. The Depression changed and focused him in a way I could not have imagined. Life in Boston during the depression was far different than the pastoral rural life my mother’s parents experienced. (I freely admit to being a Texan) The depression was an event that he never forgot. It instilled a work ethic in him I could hardly understand until I really go to know him. That single event molded and shaped who and what he was. His morality, his ethics, his being was shaped by the depression. Similar to shaping Boston’s structure to what it is now.

The Boston of 2064 is a post “plague” city. The first plague of 2010 originating in India would have played havoc with “ethnic” neighborhoods and the poor. Usually the well to do and middle class get the best medicine and care. Then in 2022 a second plague hits this time killing not a quarter of the world’s population but a tenth. These two events would have roughly knocked the world population down to 3.4 billion people (Depending on the growth percent between 2010 and 2022). Anyway you look at it from today around 30% of the population is going away. When something like that happens it’s going to rip “holes” in communities. Areas and neighborhoods where people either flee or abandon because of infectious disease. As members of 2064 we are a post plague society. That’s going to shape the city, the people, and the government.

Boston’s gentrification has “solidified” some neighborhoods. They’re not much different from how they are now. (There’s just more cops.) Some groups of people had “unique” ways of surviving the plague forming a miniature “city state” type of environment. Others just collapsed under social pressure leaving barrens.

Boston is a city of differences. The haves work for the corps. They have nice apartments. They have health insurance, they have a nice cat or dog. They go for a walk in the evening or help their kids with their homework. They pay their bills, send their kids to college, and do as their told. It’s a world of prom queens, teen angst, and puppy dogs.

<A popular radio/vid commercial in Boston>
(No need for FIDO to grow up…..Now you…you…you can have Fido 2.0…..Now fido will always be the cute puppy you want him to be. Call LTG 122-18282 for your genetic enhancement kit now from Omnitech. So your FIDO can be FIDO 2.0 forever.)

The have not’s don’t have SIN’s. They don’t have insurance, they probably have a large family with kinship ties, they work for minimal money and many can’t read or write. Since they don’t have a SIN and have sought not to get one they live in the underbelly of the city. They go to schools run by neighbors using substandard text donated by larger school districts. These families may be refugees from Aztlan, the Caribbean or the former Americans deported from the west. They look where ever they can to find work doing what ever they can. They are the cheap and disposable labor the government no longer has money to give to for social programs. They could go to another city but why? Now they may have a home, a vehicle and a fairly steady diet of bland vat grown food but its real and keeping them alive. This is the dark reality for the poor of 2064. Not mention robotics has caused a major labor source. (It’s just safer, and more reliable to have a robot do much of the manufacturing that a human would do.)

(Based on 2000 Census data and neighborhood zoning and usage maps I’m working on which neighborhoods will be there and which are free zones. I’m putting together a map of the area and areas hit and spared.)

Arkham was incorporated into a town in 2043 as a housing settlement for the magically focused.

Salem is a city of political strife between the would be witch factions and their uncaring neighbors. Witches seeking reparations for their fallen sisters have flooded Salem as a shrine and holy center to Wicca. The long time residents of Salem don’t take kindly to the protests, fighting and marches. Residents seeking a more “open” view of history.

Cambridge is an “interesting place”. Take a little bit of communism, add some Greek city states, add a little paranoia for spice, some down home white guilt, and seal off the entire city with “certified check points” for entry. The only illegal way in is through the sewers. Cambridge endorses that method specifically.
The city of Cambridge isn’t called the people’s republic of Cambridge for just any reason.

Everette and East Somerville……I’ll leave that for the game. Think mad max meets max headroom.

TIME LINE INFO
(2043 Downtown Worchester is “caged” off to the public citing a terrorist incident with a “dirty bomb”. Residents during the incident remember little but what little radio-activity remains could only point to precision orbital projectile used for strategic placement and target demolition. The central city is kept guard by means of remote drones, spirits, and roaming personnel. What ever the reason is the area is jointly patrolled by NAN, CAS and UCAS soldiers)

Indian Run Corporations:

Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Corporation (Foxwoods owners): The world leaders in commercial gambling. In 2021 they received full authorization to run, print, and maintain the Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut state Lottery. In 2045 a congressional UCAS vote was placed, purveyors of the bill lost by one vote to run and maintain the first nation UCAS lottery.

Mohegan Entertainment Group L.L.C.: BTL’s, Simsense, and Saturday Morning Cartoons they run and produce many of the syndicated television and movies. Presently they are lobbying Congress for “legalized Prostitution” and “legalized Marijuana” distribution. They lost the Prostitution vote but legalized the distribution of “snuff” sports and other such ratings grabbers.

Narragansett Investment and Royalties Corporation: A real-estate corporation they maintain, produce, builds, and sell 80% of properties in Providence, Rohde Island and a major builder of skyscrapers in New York and Boston. They presently hold all the copyrights to every Beatles song after Mr. Jackson awakened into a Lupine in 2021.

While up late at night walking the Streets of Charlestown, Astral cannons fire on Constitution from battles fought centuries ago. Below the city in the tunnels creatures dwell, hunt, and thrive. Pilgrim like apparitions walk the streets of Old Beacon Hill looking to shone their astral lamps to a world lit by neon and street lamps. Vampires feed in the night while their adorning slaves look for food to appease their masters. Elderly senior corporate officers feel their mortality, looking to fight against an enemy within themselves. Wisps of consciousness look out from the matrix, watching, wondering, and questioning. Deu's progeny are far from dead;they're progeny echo quietly on the MIT Net. Freed spirits seek redemption for crimes of passion, lifting the corporeal rug of astral space to reveal places never imagined and bars alien. The machine is more than a thing; it has become a state of being to be achieved, worshiped and poser-fied. Finally Lovecraft is not dead, he’s only been sleeping. (How could I run a New England Shadowrun game and not include something from Lovecraft.)

Immortals walk the streets as Harlequin drunkenly laugh's, “Stormbringer's” ken are reborn although the Albino still sleeps, and Calhan’s is open for business. Characters will discover “New Magic” for the mundane occultist, and power for the powerless. (How much is that “soul” of yours worth anyways?)

Ancient Tomes, tears of a Dragon, and the Red Ochre of the ancients. Angry Spirits of the Ancient Abenaki roam far off woods. Mercurial seeks a white knight to save her, and Worchester lies in ruins.

Nope it's open to anyone and everyone. If you need a ride I can arrage a pickup. It's who ever want's to play. I presently live in Charlestown, if you can get to the Bunker Hill T station (Orange Line) or Haymarket Square (Green Line). In Boston there aren't alot of places to park and my players live all over the area. I for instance live in Charlestown. I have players in Norwood, Waltham, and Watertown. Also I don't like the shops in Boston. My players wanted to play at Danger Planet since it's A. Clean B. Clean C. Lots of Space and D. the owners are cool. I've not been out to the new Your Move Games site in Sommerville but I hear that's not too bad of a spot. I'm not a big fan of the Hobby Bunker and Pandimonium Games doesn't have open gaming. There's the Complete Strategist off of Mass Ave. I'm not a big fan of that store. Some of the folks there scare me. Mike Horn is a great manager and really cleaned the place up it's just not a favorite place. Parking can also be difficult. There's also a GW store in Harvard Square but I don't think they'd like us there....I really don't care where we play as long as there's parking. Boston isn't know for it's ease of parking. I tend to have large full scale minature maps for use in my games. Having a car makes it easy to transport that stuff. If you need a ride I'm all for that.

Also don't forget Boston is really a Metropolitan Area. I really consider Boston everything inside the 95 /128 Belt. That's where most of the folks live for the most part. Most of my group is made up of Proffessionals out of college. Boston tends to lots attract college students and yuppies. I love Boston but it's very expensive and becoming less attractive the longer I live there. Again for anyone who needs a ride I have a car and will transport for free. If you want to donate fermented beverages I'm all for that. Otherwise for the carless folks in Boston I'm more that willing to help out.

It's a good spot. I used to play there. I'd vote for it if there were a poll.
I'm up for playing if the time and place is right and there's still room.

We still have room for another player. We primarily play once every two to three weeks on Saturday at Danger Planet. That's primarily when we play and go from there. So far some of the players have pet alergy's so we tend to opt out of my apartment so we play out at danger planet. I'll message you with details.
