A good example of why the game needs to develop clearer vocabulary that is then used consistently throughout the rules forfundamentalconcepts. Several times spell resistance is called a resistance test while also clearly defined as an opposed test. So spell resisitance is an opposed test called a resistance test and subject to wound modifiers even though other resistance tests like toxic and damage are not.

Step 4 is the spellcasting test
Step 5 is the resistance test.

Step 5 does not suffer wound modifiers. Step 4 does.

Which restates my point. Step 5, when it does call for resistance, has all kinds of verbage about resistance but then Direct Combat Spells say to treat it as an Opposed test. Thus the door is opened for:

Is Counterspelling affected by Wound modifiers? Whose Wound modifiers...the Counterspelling mage's and the target of Direct Combat spell? Is the target's Willpower or Body affected by Wound mods or sustaining mods? Drain Resistance, Damage resistance, Toxin Resistance...all no. Spell resistance?
