I'm all about those vampires in Battletech...oh, wait... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Somewhere in a coniferous northern forest a pale-faced vampire with a greaser hairdo is out with a girl wearing frumpy flannel. They spend the next five minutes staring at the ground and just glancing at each other before the vampire speaks up and says, "I've got a horrible secret I must tell you. You must know why we never go out when it's sunny. Look, I glitter, isn't that just horr-," At that exact moment a Mad Cat bursts through the treeline, it's chicken foot squishing the vampire into a greasy red paste beneath one of it's chicken feet with a metallic thud, red and green lasers licking at it's armor as an Atlas and a Marauder hammer it with fire, the Mad Cat falling down, crushing the camera, the screen going black as the title appears. Twilight (of the Clans) |

With RC, of course there are. It is illegal now to lynch your neighbourhood vampire unless maybe in self defense. RC is quite clear that vampiric Infected are only granted basic rights in very few jurisdictions (probably those on the list of Infected-friendly in RW). Ghouls may have made some progress, but vampires are still considered little more than prey. |

The listed countries include all major settings - UCAS, CAS, most of Europe, Hong Kong, California. Unless your campaign is set in Quebec or Russia, it is illegal for you to 'murder' an Infected - just like ghouls are now allowed to spread the iinfection freely. Whether the same applies if he kills you by feeding on you depends on local juristiction. It does NOT apply in Amazonia. |

Twilight (of the Clans) Fantastic. Now that's an SR/BT crossover I can get behind. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

The listed countries include all major settings - UCAS, CAS, most of Europe, Hong Kong, California. Huh? This is the list of Infected-friendly nations from RW:
Asamando Aztlan California Free State Czech Republic Euskal Herria France Philippines Salish-Shidhe Council Yakut And seriously, RW is the source for Infected unless you need the chargen tables (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

The quote was about the stuff from Runners Companion. Obviously you would NOT find it in the RW, then. The relevant passage is in (german) RC, pages 63 and 64, "Wer sind die Infizierten?". Please note that SINless technically do have human rights. And since RC is a CORE rule book expansion, while RW is but a sourcebook, RC, not RW, sets the standards. Sad as that is. |

This thread is about Runner's Companion? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif) You know, I seem to remember somebody writing something about that a while back. In a crazy colored font even. Oh, yeah, that's right! The RC-stuff about Infected is debatable, but do so in another thread, ok? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rotate.gif) |

Yes. The quote was about the stuff from Runners Companion. Obviously you would NOT find it in the RW, then. The relevant passage is in (german) RC, pages 63 and 64, "Wer sind die Infizierten?". Yep, this passage says that Infected can apply for a criminal SIN in the CAS,NEC and UCAS, but just a page earlier it also says: It is telling that only 35 nations around the world afford equal rights and citizenry to HMHVV infected, and those only to some. So I guess "debatable" is the correct word. "Poor/missing QA" (as the authors themselves have said) would be another good one (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) QUOTE Please note that SINless technically do have human rights. Since there are standing bounties on all Infected (ghouls included) I guess that does not apply to Infected and possibly non-homo sapients. That wouldn't make sense? Well, we are talking about immigrations laws. But if we want to continue this discussion it should ge into a seperate thread, we've strained Grinder's patience enough (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif) |

I don't see the Battletech setting as the 8th world (or even the 7th) whatsoever. Just because FASA incorporated elements from Shadowrun into Earthdawn, that doesn't mean all their settings are related. If so, I demand my street mage have access to a TARDIS or, at the very least, a Constitution-class starship. Emphasis mine. An original Connie, or refit from the films? (I'd link to my STRPG support site, but it's such a different system that some folks would throw things at me.) |

An original Connie, or refit from the films? Got any rules for one of those Apple iConstitutions built in the deep canyons of Iowa from the reboot timeline? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/silly.gif) |

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/silly.gif) Actually, there is a writeup for both the Enterprise and the Kelvin from that film, though not for the FASA system. I don't know that I necessarily agree with the writeups, but someone went to some trouble to make them, and so I host them. Check out http://strpg.patrickgoodman.org and scroll down to the Starships section. And I really need to stop this threadjack before I get even more off topic than I am already. |

Also apparently they're getting close to finishing new rules for LAMs. Aah, I still remember what got LAMs banned in my regular weekly games... Me kicking the head off an Atlas in the first rounds of a game, before it had even fired a shot. Go go hover charge. -karma |
