What does a spirit roll to defend vs. an Attack of Will (from Street Magic). IIRC, the attacker rolls Willpower and (Charisma)P damage. The Willpower roll is contested, not just to generate net hits to add damage? Or is the AoW intended to give a fighting chance and do some damage to a spirit?
Either way it seems too lopsided. If a spirit uses the FAQ provided rules on astral combat, it is mostly likely going to be rolling a dp of Force+Force and most assuredly countering the AoW. Otoh, if the spirit gets no opposed test a 4 Willpower, 5 Charisma Face will do ~5-7P... |

Otoh, if the spirit gets no opposed test a 4 Willpower, 5 Charisma Face will do ~5-7P... Per the rules, teh attack is resolved as a normal melee attack with the following exceptions... 1. The Attacker (Attack of Will) rolls Banishing + Willpower (or Just Willpower if no Banishing Skill) 2. Reach for either combatant does not apply, regardless of weapons used 3. The Attack will bypass ITNW if it is effective 4. Actual Damage is (Charisma)P As such, the spirit defends normally against the attack... so its Unarmed/Armed Combat + Reaction pool to Block or Parry, or Reaction + Dodge to avoid the attack completely... Sucks to be an Attacker using the Attack of Will option against a fairly powerful spirit, especially if that attacker does not have Banishing to assist in the attempt. Keep the Faith |

Keep the Faith But Spirits don't have armor, they merely have ITNW equal to Fx2. That actually is pretty handy against a powerful spirit the more I think about it, soak is going to be limited to body, which can be substantial in the case of an Earth or Beast Spirit. Still it seems like it might be a better shot than many of the alternatives. |

Armor has absolutely mothing to do with it... it is whether or not you can hit the Spirit in the first place... they still get to attempt to not be hit if they so choose (and since it is free, why would they not choose to do so) And yes, it you actually hit, then it could be a good thing...you still have to hit though... Yeah, like Tymeaus said, armor doesn't really factor into it. The spirit still gets to roll dodge, block, parry, what-have-you. I dunno if the spirit can also roll Body or Willpower after the fact to 'soak', but if he can, that'll also knock down the damage.
