It's more a description of what a minigun is. You can't convert an existing non-minigun to a minigun; it's a fundamental, ground-up design feature. What the box says is that only machine guns (L/M/H-MGs) can be constructed as miniguns; i.e., miniguns are machine guns, never pistols/SMGs/ARs/sniper rifles/etc.

The way they list it is pretty confusing. They do that a lot in different books. Organization of the rules has never been a strong point for shadowrun. 4th ed or otherwise.

You can figure out the cost by yourself: all you need is 6 machine guns and some glue (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

It probably doesn't help that the barrel arrangement in previous artwork of HVARs seemed to imply a rotary minigun style mechanism.

Heck, anyone remember the minigun pistol from the aborted Shadowrun Assassin video game?

I'm still disapointed that Arsenal didn't have anymore metalstorm weapons, considering that Sakura Fubuki is said to be a flagship model of a new line of weapons.

Not having to stop and swap out barrels every 6-8 shots for one.

Plus, rotating barrels looks cooler.

A great announcement and then nothing, sounds exactly like the real thing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Metal_Storm

The Sakura Fubuki uses 4 barrels of 10 stacked bullets to fire narrow bursts, so it's essentially a very limited Metal Storm-type gun.

I wouldn't really call it limited, its pretty much same as the metal storm pistols they've been showing to us.

Maybe, I just meant in comparison to the big array-type concepts Metal Storm promo'd earlier, the LMG-scale robo-unit ones. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
