OK, I have searched around but I can't seem to locate any info on how to create the spoiler tags like I see people putting in their posts. Anyone willing to give a guy a hint? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rotate.gif)

Excellent! I was sure it was something simple like that but I just couldn't seem to find it. Much appreciated.

It's the 'TM' trademark one that I always forget and have to look up.

Thank you, but pretend like you're speaking to someone who's almost completely computer illiterate. How do I make one?

Hold down the Alt key, and type 0153, then release Alt. The TM symbol should pop up. ™
Similarly, Alt-157 makes the Nuyen symbol. ¥ Bull |

Nope, it makes a window full of Strawberry Shortcake posters pop up. Oh, wait, that's the Ctrl key. Let me try again....
No luck. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif) |

Hmm... are you typing in an "Add Reply" box, using the standard font? (ie. you didn't change anything before starting to type?)
™ Yup. Works for me. Hmmm... are you working on a PC or a Mac? |

Running windows 7 home premium here with no issue. ™, ¥, §, etc. Alt codes for the win. You can find the alt code for any special character at this page:
http://www.htmlgoodies.com/beyond/referenc...II-Code-Huh.htm Just as mentioned above, hold Alt, then type (in order, relatively quickly) the number for the symbol you want, then let go of Alt. So keypresses for the ™ symbol would look like this: Press Alt & hold Press and release 0 Press and release 1 Press and release 5 Press and release 3 Release Alt Ignore any plus signs when people are mentioning codes. |

One minor note, you must have NumLock ON and use the NumPad to type the numbers. The number row does not work.

Eh, sorry, I didn't event think about that! I used 10-key typing at my last job so long, I automatically use it to type in numbers almost all the time now.

This would appear to have been a case of the blind leading the blind. I didn't think of that problem, either. I'm glad it's working now.

Thanks for sharing the easier ways of doing those, now i can actually use those without having to plug in a different keyboard as my minikeyboard doesn't have a numpad. If you really want to do it the hard way, there is a numpad on your mini-keyboard (if you're on a laptop that is) where you'll have to press the function button in addition to the combination. |
