There's going to be an official SR character generator using HeroLab coming up soon.

I know one of my players used a fanmade tool to generate his character.

The character ended up moderately broken.

Given that the player has only played shadowrun on a mud where everyone kinda powergames, and I'm a bit more... Well, let's just say I prefer the character concept to be a bit more than "He's an assassin who uses the gun kata and smokes Laes to forgot after each job..."

Anyways, beware the character creation tools, for they are often broken. They're handy for formatting, but read the damn book first.

Sorry, mildly bitter, since the player eventually admitted he'd just skimmed the book, not actually read it.
