Hi! I'm Spanish, we used to had the 3rd ed core rulebooks translated from English (it's easier to get a grasp on the rules when they're written in your mother language), then my players pushed me to run a SR campaign, one of them read about the 4th ed and how wonderful it is and refused to play SR3. So, I got a copy I read it (I got impressed by the way) and I began my search for resources on the web. I jumped into DS, and I thought to myself "hey, this could be a wonderful place to spam all my doubts about the new edition!".

So, I'm some sort of spammer, I'm not a bot (as far as I can say) and I'm very happy, in a few hours the community have just solved one of my tougher questions.

I'm bound to make huge English mistakes, take no offense, please, I'd like to spam you all in the best way I can!!

Woot! I knew this thread had to be somewhere on the board. Cha-ching.

Shadowrun GM since first printing, retired my original campaign (a couple of times!) during 3rd edition, and after a 6 year break, I've finally signed-up for Dumpshock in order to farm paydata for a new SR4A campaign I'm starting next year.

Howdy! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wavey.gif)

I have a website I run for my gaming group, there is campaign specific Shadowrun content in there, is there a rule against posting links to it here?

The more relevant elements of the Terms of Service would be:
QUOTE (Terms of Service)
2. No spamming the forums, and no commercial posts allowed. This includes "bumping" or posting useless content for the purpose of bringing a thread to the top of the forum.
QUOTE (Terms of Service)
3. No sexually explicit or offensive material. This includes links leading to materials of this nature. DSF is accessed by many people in many different settings, and we want the forum to remain accessible to everyone.
QUOTE (Terms of Service)
5. No posts that contain pirated materials, requests for pirated materials, or advocacy of pirating are permitted.

As long as your site does not violate the TOS, links are not a problem.

Hey, an introductory thread, sweet! Well, my name is Explosive Donut. I'm fairly new to shadowrun and still trying to learn the rules, and like the person above me said the learning curve is painful, but sooooooooo worth it.

Hi there! I'm also pretty new to Shadowrun, only played it a couple of times before, and I'm pretty sure I still haven't quite figured out the character system, but it's fun *^_^*

I actually came to this board because I've had to move several hundred miles from my usual group, and the nearest game shop I've found is like thirty miles away :/ fun fun. But we can do pbp games and maybe find out that there are some games going on nearby (fingers crossed)

Anyway, disclaimer in the interest of fairness, I'm not a spambot, but honestly I am a salesperson, and realistically I should act like a spambot if I ever want to make money, but I'll be good and abide by the TOS.

Here, I'll prove I'm not a spambot too:

I've had the books for awhile but no one to play with so there hasn't been much of a reason to post here. I did try to run a mission a few months ago with friends but it was their first pen and paper game and they got distracted/confused too easily. I'm a terrible GM. : (

Anyway, this site is a good resource. Hopefully I'll find people to play with.

Don't feel too badly, my armed hobo friend. I tried to run a game once.

... it didn't end well.

Suffice it to say, after gaining superpowers and morphin crystals, battling Team Rocket was a breeze. About that time we realized that no one had any idea what the heck was going on.

Well, I guess I should probably post on this thread, as well. I've been lurking about for the better part of a year, with nothing to post other than a LFP request. In case you're interested, I have experienced with 3rd and 4th edition SR; as a player in an unfortunately small number of sessions, and as a GM for two short campaigns (one each in 3rd and 4th).

Right now, though, I'm trying to get a better grip on running SR while the group takes a break from it for a bit to play something else for a few months, so you can probably expect occasional bouts of confused rambling from me on here. (For example, like what you've just read.)

The reason why I am on this site is because SinN is a good buddy of mine and recommended this site as a good place to ask questions about SR. Looking forward to playing with you all.

Also, I'm a total noob, but whatever.

My favorite pastime is to play some old-school games like Sonic and Golden Axe. For the longest time I've been on the run from those damned Mormon missionaries, I swear those demons hunt in packs!

Deff, you're now a Member. Merry Christmas. Day late sure, but better late than never.

Old or new friend of SinN's? I've known the guy for a while. Trying to figure out if I know you.(IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Either way, welcome aboard, pick up your Dikoted Ally Spirit at the Front, enjoy, and watch out for Drop Bears.

Too much time on Dumpshock. Come over to my place and we'll discuss a treatment plan over some Swordfish Mustardball.
