Scratch looked at the others in askance...her main thoughts were for seeing that Summer was sound rather than haring off into rival turf...none of this made sense to her. After the dust settled - well, the ash, anyway - the majority of the dozen went back to the Dive to finish their drinks, celebrate their victory, or talk about their next move. Grim hung back, to continue tending to the wounded. When free medical care is offered, there seemed to be an endless line of squatters queued up for a once over - some of whom, Grim suspected, had not even been present during the fire. Some time later, with his RV loaded up with those who needed more than simple first-aid, Grim drove back to the Dive and parked in his usual spot, visible through the front windows. Grim, however, remained in the RV.

I doubt we'll get any leadership out of that. What if we use the car as a distraction. Cause some havoc, send a message, and all that, but at the same time, we lay some ground work on getting closer to the heads of this beast? What do we know about these guys? Where do the top brass hang out? Where's the base of operations? And while we're doing all this, we can't lose sight of the fact that they've got some kind of a plan in motion already, and we don't know what it is. No matter what, we need a closer look at these guys"

"Plan as I see it is for me to run point. I drive past their hang out, to spook them a little and see who I can flush out, circle around the back of a nearby building and jump out. I scale the thing, up to the roof and set up shop. Pick off a few guys with the Ingram. Then I duck back, go VR and drive the car by remote, straight into the responders. Alex lights off on his cycle, loud and fast to drag the attention off. I play it loose from there depending on how they respond. That's where the opportunity to hit their leadership comes up. Lucky runs pickup duty."

As long as Cosimo was talking he wasn't grinding his teeth. That was something, at least.

Lucky caught up with the group at the Dive just after stashing the recovered equipment in Grim's RV, where someone would be there to watch over it.

He tucked up with the rest of the group, thin beer in his head.

"Can we check the gear, maybe? The shooters seemed pretty pro compared to the rest...one guy spotting, one guy shooting, not just a schmuck with a gun in a window...and no comm link, no ID's...gangers woulda had something, to get orders or call in the job or reinforcements, or confirm payment, something like that..."

I don't think Lucky has the skills but I'm curious about exactly what was recovered? Was it an expensive or customized rifle? Something generally more than you could get a hold of in our neighborhood? Any chance that someone with the right skills and contacts could track it back? Or maybe someone that can do forensics or knows someone that could do forensics to see if the gun's been used on some other guys that might cue us in?
