So, I pre-ordered the game from steam forever ago, was real disappointing when it got delayed, and then haven't played it until yesterday even though it came out a while ago now.
Haven't had a chance to get past a couple of the training missions, but it seems like a fun game. I like that you don't have unlimited time to think about the response to everything people say, gives a bit more of a real flow to the conversations. In this time though, I've already found some things that seem like they would be unbelievably easy to fix, and yet are exceptionally annoying. First, I hate that the mouse sensitivity for movement and menus can't be separated. To get the sensitivity high enough to feel comfortable in the menus, I find myself doing nothing than pirouetting around while trying to move. I also despise the hacking game, because trying to place one of the codes with the mouse is absurdly frustrating because there is a very slight delay to the code's movement and it has a very sluggish feel to it. The number of times I've messed up a hack (like an hour or less into the game) because the mouse code moved off by one square is astonishing. This also extends somewhat to the lockpicking, the movement of the tumblers has a very sluggish feel. Those are the only two real gripes I have with it so far. The first one is a minor annoyance, but the second can be near game breaking when hacking seems like it will be coming up very often. Anyone else played the game? Anyone tried a game pad? Seems like the game was really designed around using one. |

There's another thread about this not to long ago, yanno. Anyways...
Yeah, I played the game on the PS3 and had nowhere near the amount of control issues that people on the PC seem to have. In fact, after I got what I was supposed to do with the hacking minigame it was ridiculously easy. Hell, late game lockpicking ended up more annoying because of an oddity with the Earth that is the Alpha Protocol-iverse. If you cancel a hack into someones security systems, no problem. If you decide to cancel picking someones footlocker however, every alarm within five kilometers go off. Luckily, the game does have ways around it all. First off, with the first level of Sabotage and some EMP grenades you can instantly bypass any minigame. Alternately, intel you purchase often makes hacking much easier or allows you the benefits of doing so without touching a computer in the first place. |

I have had no problem at all with the mini games or mouse sensitivity, and I always turn mine up to 7 or 8. Everyone complains about that but I really don't feel I "get it". |

The mouse sensitivity bit is even worse with a laptop's built in pad. Fun game but they definately need to release some sort of fix for this.
