For some reason I thought spirits had damage tracks, but it seems like attacking a spirit only reduces the amount of favors owed. But what about attacking a free spirit? How do you know when it's had enough?

How do you know when it's had enough? Spirits do have damage tracks, if either stun or physical is filled they are disrupted. You're probably looking at banishing which is terrible. |

Yes, Pilot *is* System. It's actually kind of a pain, because you can't upgrade System without upgrading the whole Pilot. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif) Pricier. I'd rather house-rule that Pilot is a special program that also runs, and then you could upgrade System as you pleased. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Also, what happens to a spirit in both the material world and in astral space when the stun damage track is filled, and what happens to an astral projector?

They. Go to their metaplane if they are like free spirits. It used to be a mystery. If they are like free spirits: if their damage overflow is greater than thier will(I think) they lose a point of force.

What I really mean to ask is what happens as far as gameplay is concerned. When a player's stun track is filled in meatspace, he falls unconscious and can no longer act. I'm curious as to whether or not this happens when a player is in the astral, and whether or not spirits are removed from the action when stun damage fills.

WHen spirits damage track fills up they're distrupted and go back to their metaplane. |

So then I assume that it's possible to do physical damage to a materialized spirit, and if that track fills up then the spirit is destroyed?
And what about magicians in the astral, what happens when their stun track fills? |

Here's a related question that I was grappling with as a GM the other night:
Do spirits with damage suffer wound modifiers to their rolls? Case in point my PCs were beating up on a spirit and one of them Attack of Willed it for 9P damage (good job, DocChase!) I couldn't decide whether the spirit got a -3 on its roll or not. I couldn't find anything confirming or denying the position as I flipped through the books, so I figured I'd toss it to you all, who are probably better rules lawyers than I am. |

QUOTE ("SR4 p153-4) As a character records damage on his Condition Monitor, he suffers certain effects that simulate the effects of real-life injuries. For every 3 boxes of cumulative damage taken on a Condition Monitor track, the character suffers a –1 wound modifier. These wound modifiers are cumulative, so a character who has taken 6 boxes of Physical and 3 boxes of Stun suffers a total –3 wound modifier. Note how it says "a character" and "a Condition Monitor." Condition monitors are: Physical Stun Matrix (Astral uses the P and S tracks). Nothing about spirits says that they are exempt from this rule. |

Eh, I suppose I could take that. I just wish it had been more explicit in the spirit section that, yes, they do take wound mods when they are damaged.

Why wouldnt they take wound mods?
Unless otherwise noted, everything follows base rules. |
