@Aria:

As you will note, I am fudging the times and what exactly is going on presently for Silk. The reason being is that I would rather integrate you into the plot I have developing instead of trying to continue off another GM's story. I basically just changed the day to the 5th so your arrival will be in line with the events currently unfolding at the complex. Let me know if you have any problems with that and we'll see if we can work something out.

@Everyone Else:

I realize some people posted actions they wanted to undertake after the meeting. I am rolling back that time period frame to better accommodate getting you all wrapped up into the plot-line. Scar and Rhodes were outside, the AWOL PC's can be considered to have already left. Everyone else that was at the meeting can decide where they are at as the meeting is letting out and people are starting to leave. You can be in the halls, outside, still in the apartment; whatever so long as it makes sense.

I tried to include everyone that had posted and was involved in different areas of the game. I saw a couple other people that weren't at the meeting or what have you but I haven't seen activity from them in awhile.

@Notsoevildm:

Uhm, no note. Just screw you I guess!

@Anyone else:

If you are involved in 2072 but your character is not present at any of these scenes, please let me know. Kind of a pain in the dick to go back and try and dissect several pages worth of posting to figure out where the shit everyone is. If I forgot you, it was not my intention.

Going to give the other players that were present at the meeting a couple days to post. If they don't post by Thursday I will advance the plot. They've had like two months.

Have a feeling all hell is about to break loose...so here's an initiative check in case you want one:

9d6.hits(5) hits 4 initiative = 13

We might not be in combat, yet.

But, to roll initiative take your base score and roll that many dice. Then take the number of successes from that roll and add it to your base score.

Yeah. In Invisible Castle, it's INITd6.hits(5), and then +INIT

So for instance, I have an Initiative of 9, it's 9d6.hits(5), and I get [3,2,5,2,4,3,5,2,2] = (2 successes). 2+9=11, so I would go on 11.

Initiative (8d6+1=28)

Messed up the notation a bit. But, that's one hit. 8+1=9. Goin' on a 9.

I'm pretty sure Silk's actions aren't conducive to a long life but I can't see her lying down while some goon waves a gun in her direction...in fact I can't see many runners doing that so perhaps that's the point (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

Don't know if you want some kind of athletics/gymnastics dodge or something else? Assuming I make it through the next three seconds alive then I'll head for the road edge and look for some cover of sorts or somewhere I can properly 'disappear' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Actually, I didn't know how to use Invisible Castle...that said...

Here's my roll link:

http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2759377/

And Results:

7d6 → [4,5,4,2,4,4,6] = (29)

2 Successes + 7 Init stat = 9

By the way, Grimm, I did some character updating, and I now only have 1 Karma remaining (out of 11 total earned) and NY4,435 left.

I do, however, have some very nice armaments now (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Also, what is your opinion on the practice of trading NuYen for Karma?

Do me a favor and PM me what you bought/upgraded. I'm going to start another section in the database for Karma/Nuyen expenditures just to have a record easily available.

And I would say no to the Nuyen to Karma. That kind of thing isn't something I'd like to see in any game I run really.

10D Dodge+Reaction+Edge = 1 hit (oh crap!) hope he's a bad shot!

Given that, what damage would you like me to resist, you’ve said AP -3 so I get a paltry 3 pts of armour…? May need that last point of edge!

Grimm…assuming Silk lives long enough for it to matter I wanted to ask some questions about character advancement that have been previously raised in the OoC thread by various people (plus a few of my own)…

• Normally we could only put up one thing with karma after each ‘adventure’ but how should that work with this game? Do we need to worry about training costs etc?
• Do we need to maintain lifestyle costs? It’s taken at least a couple of realtime months to get to day 2 gametime!
• Will it be possible to get big payout type items (eg foci, expensive wires…) without posting for months to get them? I know the cash is racking up, particularly as we’ve only been going for 2 days of game time…but thought it was worth asking (I’d like a synaptic booster at around 80000 nuyen (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) ).
• Is there a karma cost for picking up new contacts in ‘downtime’ eg. Silk contacting Cannon? Do you want to handle this through RP even if it is PC initiated?
• Are we using the optional rule of allowing adepts to take a point of powers instead of metamagic?

@Aria: My fault, it'd be Ballistic.

To address your questions.

*Karma expenditures can just be taken. I more prefer the mindset of doing something makes you better at it. If it comes down to learning a new physical skill such as; surgery for instance. That's not something you can really wing. Things you're just improving on I'm not too concerned with.

*I'm honestly not all that worried about ongoing lifestyle costs. I think the way I'll handle it is you just buy it during creation and consider that to be your lifestyle for the life of the character. If you want to change it during gameplay then you shell out the new cost. That will also free up Nuyen for buying new toys.

*I've been trying to figure out how to let the players get access to high dollar items in a more efficient fashion. My original intention was to award them as part of storyline bonuses and shit like that from Johnsons and different runs. But now that I'm managing a much larger group that may not work out as well. I do want to ensure you guys have access to everything you could want (and afford) but I haven't figured out the best way to accomplish that yet.

*Buying a contact with Karma during downtime is acceptable. I think I will rule that these contacts will never start with higher than a loyalty 1. The reason being is that contacts I've allowed players to make in game often have differing loyalties depending on the circumstances of how they met. For instance, Copperhead met Slater by helping rescue him and her ork boy-toy. Which started him off as a loyalty 2 instead of 1. That way players are encouraged to seek out contacts in a more traditional fashion. I can see the need to be able to buy a quick contact though.

*Where can I find that optional rule to read the information surrounding it before I rule either way.

So how much damage is coming Silk's way then? Not looking forward to this (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sarcastic.gif)

Think the rule is in reprints of Street Magic...not completely sure though, could be an errata somewhere?!? Anyone else know?

...and contacts at 2x BP cost? Loyalty 1 makes sense for new contacts...even old 'Uncles' (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I guess it would help if I gave you all the appropriate information for your defense rolling.

It'll come out to 9P versus Ballistic.

And yes, 2x level is fine.

Dahlia is going to observe whoever is outside the door in detail (perception check) and then take aim at them with the dart pistol (+1 to shoot next round)

Initiative: (Reaction+Intuition) = 3+5 = 8d6 Perception: (Perception+Intuition+Attention Coprocessor+ Vision Enhancement on goggles) = 4+5+3+3 = 15d6 (8d6=23, 15d6=59)

Initiative = (8+1 hit) = 9
Perception = 5 hits

Ouch, 3 hits on damage resistance so that's 6 damage and a lot of pain!!!

Seti is going to cover Dahlia, but otherwise hold his action. He rolled 13, however.

So, guys, who's taking bets on it being one of our targets across the hall?

Soooooo...I was operating under the assumption that since the three (or five?) of us probably can't handle six teams of guys that we would go against whoever they were actually at the apartment for. Yes? No? Maybe?

In the absence of clear evidence regarding a target, we must assume that they are here for Dahlia as she is the owner of record (unless they knew about the meeting-which would mean Dahlia's employer is compromised).

I could be wrong, but it sounds like they're after someone just down the hall--in another apartment in the same building.
