Down the hall? Across the hall. Only way I can figure two mooks being thrown through your door is like that.

That's what I meant.

Either way, this means Dahlia is going to have to find someplace else to live.

In the absence of clear evidence regarding a target, we must assume that they are here for Dahlia as she is the owner of record (unless they knew about the meeting-which would mean Dahlia's employer is compromised).

It's not a house...it's an apartment block. So when two charred bodies come flying through the door, and "the door across the hall blown completely out as though a shaped explosion had gone off" [emphasis mine], I think it would be safe to presume that the target of their breaching action was the gravel-voice across the hall.

Now: This does not mean that they just fucked up and went to the wrong appartment. But since the guy across the appartment seems to have been expecting just this sort of thing (" “You cocksuckers are so fraggin’ predictable!” With that, a torrent of gunfire was unleashed in the hallway. The barking of automatics coupled with the loud reports of a higher caliber weapon created a cacophony of sound that reverberated through the apartment complex. "), I think it's quickly becoming obvious that we are incidental to the strike team's...uh...designated purpose, shall we say.

Then I completely misread the post...I thought they were coming into Dahlia's apartment...I need to amend my post drastically...

Question: where am I in relation to the door? I'd like to know if I have cover or if I potentially exposed to any stray rounds more than I should be...

I envisioned you as being off to the side in the apartment. I would say none of the gunmen have a clear line of sight to you. As for strays, who knows. That really depends on the grade of ammunition and the weakness of the walls. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

@Grimm: shopping list / karma spend for Copperhead.

Karma:
First aid skill to 1 = 4 pts
Assensing skill to 2 = 4 pts
Stunbolt spell = 5 pts
Total = 13 (bye, bye karma points)

Gear:
Troll sized shades (R3) with smartlink, image link and visual enhancements (R3) - 900
Earbuds (R1) with audio enhancements (R3) - 310
Medkit (R6) - 600
Food, drink, etc. (1 month squatter lifestyle) - 500
30 gel rounds for shotgun - 900
External smartlink and shock pad for shotgun (+fitting) - 450 (+x)
Pair of shock gloves - 200
Total: 3860 (+x for adding new bits to shotgun) NOTE: the first 4 items were bought earlier but are not listed on main sheet in database thread (they are listed on the sheet in my sig).

Assensing rolls on bunny with new skill level: Intuition 3 + Assensing 2 = 5d6.hits(5)=2, 4d6.hits(5)=1, 3d6.hits(5)=2, 2d6.hits(5)=1, 1d6.hits(5)=0 = 6 in total.

Learning spell: Intuition 3 + Spellcasting 3 - Combat 1 (mentor) = 5d6.hits(5)=2, 5d6.hits(5)=1, 5d6.hits(5)=2 - takes 3 days (even if you knock off 1 dice per day for successive tests).

I have Suicidal Street Sam, Astarshipforants, Aria, Notsoevildm, TheDoctor, and myself down for the karma award for the week of 11/08-11/15. Points are awarded and updated.

@Notsoevildm: Your sheet and karma expenditures are updated. Rather than attempting to guess, what sorts of items are you looking for Lenny to acquire for you. I ask because I don't know the setting inside out and I haven't played a mage yet. So I don't know know the fine details to it or how things necessarily interact with one another. If you can give me names/types I can go read the information surrounding them and make informed choices though.

For the huddling figures, can I tell if the small figure is being covered protectively by the two larger figures?

Hopefully Silk's rash calling of the cops hasn't ruined anyone's day (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

...I have to confess I'm scratching my head to find a way of meeting the other runners without feeling too like using player knowledge instead of PC knowledge...bright ideas welcome! I'm assuming that Grimm has something up his sleeve for us all to be doing together?!? ...other than bleeding all over the place that is (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I think it'll all come together. Hopefully I won't have to deus ex machina-ish it too much.

The funny thing is, I was thinking a couple days ago that Scar wouldn't just lay there with a gun in his face. He would've called the people he knows he can depend on. And that would be a bunch of pissed off troll go-gangers. We'll just hafta see how things develop. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Aaaand so much for Dahlia caring about sides. They scared Asim. As soon as the squirt's somewhere safe, it may now be considered on. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/spin.gif)

Looks like you didn't update skills or add new spell yet.

Magical gear:
Spirit binding materials for F3 spirits - 1500 each, ideally enough for 2-3 spirits.
And although not for right now as I just spent all her karma, I am also interested in getting some magical foci for Copperhead. Top of the list would be a Power focus (R1, 25k yen) as it adds to pretty much every magic test, but a healing focus (R2, 30k), weapon focus (staff, R2, 20k) or a detection sustaining focus (R3, 30k) would also be interesting.

Grimm, you asked about the wording of the optional rule allowing adepts to take a point of powers instead of a metamagic...it's on p31 of Street Magic in the 'tweaks' box:

QUOTE (Street Magic p31)
Adept Initiation.
Groups may consider allowing adepts to gain 1 Power Point instead of a Metamagic at Initiation.

I'd appreciate a ruling on this as it will determine how Silk spends her karma...either on mundane stuff or heading towards initiation...

Thanks

A

You know, I read over that page about 5 times and still don't see where exactly it states that.

Regardless, it did give me enough information to find the information I needed in the corebook to render a ruling. I really don't see a problem with it. It seems like that should have been an option for Adepts from the get go with their limited ability to gain Meta crap from Initiation. So yeah, consider it acceptable. I'm not going to put a house ruling in the database thread though due to I don't think it's going to come up often enough to warrant it.

It's in the errata and subsequent printings of the book...I asked about it in the main forums and there's a link there to the errata and it's at the bottom of the page in the printing (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Well, that's what Silk will be going for (if only to balance out the magic loss from getting some bioware)... I think I'd prefer to roleplay it out though as initiation is such an important part of being a magic user. Will post my wish list soon (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Intiatitive: 8 (Stat 7 + 1 success)

Link to Roll: http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2767022/

Actions for Round:

Return to meat bod (I recall that being a full action) and make announcement as described

I don't think I can make more actions unless I'm remembering the rules incorrectly.

@Aria: Good. Kinda figured it was in errata or something. From the looks of it it doesn't look unbalancing so I'm not too concerned with delving deep into it. Particularly now that I have a better understanding of how adepts function in general.

Assensing roll for guard spirits at MCT garage: Intuition 3 + Assensing 2 = 5d6.hits(5)=0.

Apparently none, so Copperhead will poke around a little closer to see what she can see.

Quick (and partial) karma shopping list for Silk (I'll put her money shopping list up later)...

Uncle Canon contact [1/3] (8 karma - ouch!)
Gymnastics tumbling spec (2 karma)

I'm aiming for Grade 1 initiation, preferably with a group and possibly with an ordeal. For a neat tie-in the Wolf Pack is an adept group in the Stillwater Community which is the focus of my current Emerging Game. But you may have other ideas (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
