But handles less well on city streets and actually stands out more in urban settings.

We term these "racing" motorcycles - and yet their top speed potential is roughly half that of the true choppers ...?

Whilst I understand what you mean, I think that has a lot to do with where you are. I live in Kent in the UK and, with such a lot of countryside around, they are far more common than in urban environs. Add to this the fact that the often lower engine sizes make them legal for youngsters and learners, it makes them the cheapest option for those folks who want to avoid riding the knee-breaking step-throughs. So... I guess it ain't what you got, but where you use it... 8) |

How is their top speed potential roughly half that of choppers? From what I can see it's about the same, give or take a little. Certainly not half anyway. I'm willing to be convinced by solid figures though!

Top speed for the Aurora (fastest of the light bikes) was what, 210? with top speed for the Blitzen and Electroglide 285? All souping of engines is usually proportional to original base speed; loss of increments of speed will also tend to be higher proportionately for something slower to begin with. So "half" was a bit exaggerated ... and yet the heavier bikes do seem to be distinctly faster than the so-called "racing" bike - say on (non-tweaked) average by 50%?
However, I don't have Riggers 3 yet (wish list and hinting). Could be changes I don't know about yet. |

In R3R the Electroglide (fastes listed Chopper) has a speed of 225, and the Aurora's is 210, so any mods would have similar effects there I guess.
However I've just noticed that the Aurora only has CF 1, which isn't enough to take any Nitros as a customisation. So that makes a pretty damn big difference I guess. Which, in turn, is pretty stupid since you'd expect a Racing bike to be much faster. Unless you can get Increased Cargo Space as a design option in your Racing bike, which I guess most people can't. |
