Based on the Shadows of Asia/Europe i would say something like:
Humans 65% Elfs 10% Dwarfs 6% Orcs 15% Trolls 3% Other 1% |

I'm not up for extending the math out, or carrying out the future birth rates, but doesn't the core book mention something about the percentages? Wasn't it 10% of births resulting in elves and dwarves, and then when UGE hit it was another 10% going all orky and trollish?
It was mentioned in another thread that the elven and ork populations would be gaining, due to keeb longevity, and tusker's high birtrh rates. |

Dwarf populations would also increase as much as Elven ones, but they're not as well known because, well, they didn't found FRAGGIN' COUNTRIES and frak off people about it. (I'm looking at you, Tir Na Nog!).
Trolls would be stable for the most part, as it takes a lot to kill a Troll, and they don't have litters like Orks do. But they'd also be a "Nightmare Button" for people as they're easy to pick out of a crowd. Something about being over two metres tall. |

Does anyone know the distribution between the different races? There is information about this in Runner's Companion (the most recent SB to talk about this). IIRC 50% are humans, 25% are Orks, 10% to both Elves and Dwarves and 5% to Trolls. The book also mentions that although Orks had been having litters since the Globinization and they would probably be surpassing human population by now, something (unexplained and being studied) has made the litters stop. Orks now give birth to a 1 or 2 babies now. |

Page number for these? As only number i can find is 68% for humans, which is pretty close to my quick formulated world avarage based on invidual countries statistics. |

My two bits. |

Or they read my thread about the fact the Orks women need to have several pairs of breast if they are supposed to feed litters of 4-8 babies (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

I know that it doesn't pertain 'directly' to percentages, but people need to remember the VITAS outbreaks and stuff took out huuuuuuuge percentages of the world's population. It's not really dwelled on in the books but I know there were two or three big hits of it, to the tune of 10 to 25 % of the worlds population dieing.
So over population isn't really a problem. It just 'feels' more like it because people have been moved around by the balkinization of the countrys and the NAN kicking people out and stuff. But between 35 and 50% of the worlds population died off at some point between 'now' and 2072. But people have been asking for page numbers. This is what I found in a quick glance. Human percentages 68% Runner's companion page 49 Orc: "Orc's birthrates have plunged in industrialized countries over the past few years. Several Sociological and medical studies into the matter have proved inconclusive, but it seems save to suggest that the drop off is unlikely to be natural." Runner's companion page 49 So yes. the litters have stopped... but why? Lol Elves: "Metahuman Demographics show the elven metatype is the third most widespread globally" Runner's companion page 51 Trolls: "The rarest of metatypes, trolls are also the least wide spread" it also goes on to say "Not only are population numbers significantly lower than the remaining metatypes but some areas of the globe and ethnic groups evidence below average occurrence of troll expression ( for instance among native south American ethnicity ) or none at all. Runner Companion page 55 But to answer the question, how many metahumans are there? Roughly 32 percent. Which translates to 1/3rd of the worlds population give or take, are Metahuman. That's if you don't count the dragons and Sasquatch and centaurs and stuff which are sentients and outside the classification. |

Isn't it assumed these numbers all represent SINners also? (meaning the Ork population is probably at least a little larger)

It wasn't like the designers thought any of that stuff out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) And the numbers seem to vary based on sourcebook, and sometimes without any regard for conflicting information. For example, the 4A core book says that each of the other races are "represented about equally", lol. |

Some sources do come as anecdotal evidence, some appear as "official" documentos, that even then, might provide false or incomplete information, SPECIALLY when you start consider what shows up on shadowtalk. |

Western Europe figures are human 69.49%, dwarf 6.34%, elve 8.71%, ork 10.21%, troll 4.21% troll and "other" 1.05%.
Figures for North America circa 2062 -according to Shadows of North America- are human 65.94%, dwarf 6.81%, elve 9.84%, ork 11.85%, troll 4.91% and "other" 0.65%. Shadows of Asia features numbers only for India, Japan, Rusia and Korea, with high figures for human, 76.84% (Japan's not that much to blame : Indians account for 70% of it). Overall, known data (North America, Western Europe, those four Asian countries, plus Aztlan and the Trans-Polar Aleut) give human 73.14%, dwarf 5.73%, elve 6.82%, ork 10.57%, troll 2.60% and other 1.14% on a total of 2,290,514,134. |

I believe they actually do produce the amount of milk sufficient to feed their children - they just have to milk themselves fairly often and stock up a bit to get feeding times hashed out. It isn't as uncommon as you'd think. And the statistic is 2-8 babies, with 4 average IIRC. |

That orcs have 1 or 2 kids now. Same as humans. and that it's directly stated that they don't think it's a natural change. That something or someone has interfered and purposefully put a stop to the 'orc litters' being born. That it's not a natural change. Therefore. Unnatural. |
