All right, I know 350 BP, I'm trying to figure out what all is normal for a Street Level game. I have 2 questions: What are the normal caps, and what is the equivalent karma for 350 BP (SR4, not 4A)?
Thank you for your time |

The old karma system with attributes x3 and no race cost leads to extremly strong chars compared to BP generation so you'd probably have to cut the karma amount a lot. It's definitely easier to just use the modified errata'ed karma system with attributes x5 and race cost as BP in karma, it's much more balanced (even though it hurts trolls a little too much in my opinion).
Overall what is normal for a street game varies heavily between groups, but things I've seen proposed often on these boards are limiting availability to 8 or even 6, magic to 3 or 4 and sometimes also limiting the amount of BP you can spend on gear. You have to be careful not to favor awakened chars too much when restricting gear though. |

I would go even farther and limit availability to 4 (maybe with one item of AV 6-8 allowed).
Also, limit Attribute (esp. Special Attributes) and more importantly Skill Ratings to reasonable levels. And put a limit on how much resources one can have. Limiting Attributes to 4 (one at 5) and Special Attributes and Skills to 3 (one Skill at 4) makes sense, IMHO. Also no more than 10-20 BP in resources. Make used gear (esp. cyberware) available. Contact Connection Ratings of more than 3 also seem out of place for street level (there are exceptions, of course, like knowing the Don (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) ). Some Qualities break these constraints, so they should be run by you on a case by case basis. Sometimes it makes sense in the context of the character, but sometimes it's purely to break the limits. Are race costs applied before or after attribute costs in Karmagen? It'd make a big difference for trolls buying Strength..
