The latest version of this cyberpunk FPS is out on steam. Valve finally pushed the button minuets ago it was meant to be out friday. It's a free mod for source so you will need a source game to play it. I can give more details but for now I'll link to the site as I'm itching to play me self I though I'd just post while the game updates. Link to the games web site http://www.dystopia-game.com/

Hope to see some of you in game. Name will be Dumorimasoddaa thats also my steam name I'm happy to help any one learn the ropes its got a learning curve that can be quite hard.

Heavy's now have global implant slots, total graphical and sound rehaul. Some things are just plain sexy now. More map tweaks for balance in the competitive play scene that also happens to be the main core of Dystopia players right now. RL had minor changes and crotex also give you a speed boost when ticking (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) OH SO MUCH EXPLODEY FUN!

Also a tone of polish for example blot discharge kills now have there own icon. It really getting to the point of heavly surpassing rival paid for games on the team multiplayer side.

http://www.dystopia-game.com/news/may_2010...upporters/20498

that has the change list pre going to in supporter testing there have been more changes after that. It had 6 RCs before a public release. Many fixing major bugs found but also addressing finer blaence tweaks.

Also there are plenty of new maps. In fact I think if its been a while Ie you missed 1.2 then most maps will have changed heavly in fact they have any way 1.2-1.3. Also it's so nice to see severs full once more. The whole 1.3 is just round the bend kindo' killed pub games for a while.

What realy stands out is how much better it runs as they completely remade the game for OB.

Mmm those updates sound rather good, I always had trouble finding a server for me to play in (Australia) as not many people played, perhaps this will change with the new updates, as it was a fun game.

was playing last night after it went live. much more newby-friendly. there are now VR ant-trails on most maps, which show you where your objectives are. much harder to get lost.

It's had a few issues sever wise. Valve seams to have fucked up a few bits. after it whent live it crashed after 20 mins and every copy developed a crash on start up.

That was quite a poor tutorial. The voice disruption made it so I couldn't understand a word of what was being said, and the captioned text went by too fast, and would often get skipped because I walked too fast. It also asked me to do stuff but didn't tell me how (like the super jump), and didn't really explain much of anything at all.

I guess I'll just have to get geaked a few (dozen) times in an actual game to figure stuff out.

Yeah that tutorial is SHIT. We know this the mod lacks the funds to hire more voice actors right now and there is huge debate about how and or what the new tutorial should and shouldn't do. Rock Paper Shotgun looks to be hosting a tutorial event on sat IIRC it will be on my clans sever I'll try and find the post on the RPS forums but yeah on this game learn the hard way. Just please learn decking on a empty sever. Decking is such a few people can do it on a sever that even one newbie can screw a team over.

Also if need be I can walk you though bits and bobs been playing it for ages I guess I'm one of the old players now. I don't feel it however I'm easily one of the worst players in the clan scene or at least in the top 8 clans though that might not be saying much the top 4 clans are godly TANK, Kaya, Nb and Psy have some of the best players in the game. While my clan ZLJ is more on par with [LOSD] though we do have some of the best deckers. Competativly there are 3 real teirs of clans the ones who suck normally that years fresh blood clans. The middlers and the elite often have a core of plays form the Ux releases when it was still technically demo/beta.

I have to pump the competitive play part of Dystopia as it is built round it now many change are to make clan play better and more balanced. I know we have also impressed some big names in pro gaming with this but the learning curve and assault bases game-play dose tend to put of newcomers. We find those who love it will keep playing for years those who don't tend to grief and then fuck off.

http://rockpapershotgun.com/rpsforum/topic.php?id=3358 The RPS tutorail and details. I've mention vagely to one of the organisers that I'm canvassing dumpshock so unlikely to get a negative response. In fact I think you might well be welcomed as we always want new players.

I just downloaded the game so if the tutorial isn't that great then I would love to have a experienced player show me the ropes.

it is my opinion that decking combat is similar to old-school death match, like quake and UT.

and you can only practice matrix combat vs a live person, so find a training partner, or a forgiving server (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif)

you can still learn the maps and how the mechanics work by yourself though.

Tried it, it's got some definite rough edges like the learning curve on hacking, but I give it a LOT of points for trying and will continue to play it as time permits. Dumori pm me your steam handle if you would I couldn't find the one you posted.
