As in you personally, not a character.
I'd love: Math SPU - Math in my head to the max Dietware - No more worrying about what I eat Fang Implant - Maybe, if I was feeling really rebelious one day Attention Coprocessor 1 - Go go multitasking Orientation System - No more getting lost driving around, woo! Balance Tail - I enjoy slack lining, would make me even better at it Clean Metabolism - Great for hot days Hearing Enhancement - I have serious trouble with certain tones, this should fix that right up. Nanotattoos - I've always kind of wanted a tattoo, but could never settle on what I wanted, and so on. Would be awesome to be able to change it around, make it go away when I don't want it, and even be able to have an animated tattoo. Nanohive - to go with my nanotattoos. Flashback System - Relive my best memories? Yes please. Sleep Regulator - More time to game (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) I suppose there is also the large line of intelligence enhancements (cerebral boosters, PuSHeD, neocortical nanites), but it's kind of boring to list all that. So, what about you? What ware would you really love to have? P.S. Oh, nearly forgot, datajack/implanted commlink. 24/7 connection to my computer. Likely bad for me, but oh well. Would maybe consider cyberears instead of the hearing enhancement, at least then I'd be able to tune out those ultra-high pitched sounds I can sometimes hear. |

Yep I can agree with a lot of your choices.
Dietware, Clean metabolism, Tailored Pheromones, Enceliphon, sleep regulator, sim recorder. |

Datajack - Might make my writing easier and flow better.
Math SPU - Obvious reasons. Dietware - Ditto. Attention Co-Processor - I have an undiagnosed learning disorder (As in they don't know what it is, just that I have one), and this will probably "Solve" it. Cat Eyes - Get rid of these glasses, and see in the dark. Cyberears - Family curse. * Dampener - Loud noises cause me physical pain. * Sound Link - I am a walkman! Cerebral Booster - See Attention Co-Processor above. Sleep Regulator - I have a difficult time with sleep, this should help. And I'd get more time for gaming. Cold Adaptation - I'm Canadian. This is a no-brainer. Cloned legs and arm replacement - I've buggered both up in my life, and it'd be nice to have them not pain me so. |

Cyberears with select sound filter, damper (replace these faulty meat ones)
Cybereyes with the works (already have had RL lasik, so why not? Plus imagelink is a must) Olfactory enhancement (smells are under-utilized in today's world, I feel) I'd be really interested in a cyberarm. I'm not QUITE at the point of self-amputation, but if an accident happens and I can get a quality cyberarm, I'd be very ok with that (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Yeah, I wouldn't do that. I mean, if there's cyber, there's also trodes and all the stand-alone sensors and things. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Just like in SR, I wouldn't bother implanting anything with an exact stand-alone equivalent.

As a narcoleptic, the idea of having a sleep regulator is intriguing. As someone who doesn't trust doctors, no way in hell would I get one.
Then again, I've said for years I want to volunteer for man/machine interface projects to become the first person to catch a computer virus... |

Is self-amputation really that different from having your meat eyes plucked out? Yeah, that's a good point...guess I've lived all my life messing with my eyes, so "plucking them out" doesn't seem as much of a stretch as having an arm lopped off on purpose. At first thought, anyway. If push came to shove you're probably right (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) *edit* just saw Yera's post - you're right, now, thinking about it more - I think I'd rather have glasses / contacts than cybereyes. Ever read "Speaker for the Dead" (sequel to Ender's Game)? I vaguely remember a character in the book (Olhada?) with cybereyes, with cybereyes being verryy rare. I think it touched a bit on how the cybereyes created some real distance and persecution from other characters, even within the family. Cyberarm is still a must, though. Obviously (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

Some of the other items people have already mentioned are great, though: no external equivalent and significant effects. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Obviously, we'd all want the brain-boosters and attention widgets.

Hm... depends. So they are all absolutely safe and i can get unlimited money for them?
Well, first of all: Cyberware: An internal Cyberdeck... i mean comlink Datajack, skinlinked Encephalon Mathematical Co-Processor Retinamods (I really don't like the idea of letting them rip out my eyes.) for enhancements, imagelink Earmods for soundlink, enhancements Control Rig Taste Booster Voice modulator (I don't like my voice... could be more awesome Maybe more like Liam Neeson or something *g*) Bioware: Small bio modification (face) Getting it a bit more symmetrical) Muscle Toner and Muscle Augmentation (It is cool to be super strong without any training, yeah i am lazy) Cerebral Booster (Hm... only if it really doesn't change my person) Sleep Regulator (OF COURSE!!!) Symbiotes Genetech: Well... all optimizations, and PuSHed, maybe Qualia and some other stuff. Nanosystems: Hm... as long as i can trust that the damn things don't eat my body: Well, sustained Nanosymbiotes Neural Amplifiers (Can't decide which one.. all good) Maybe Oxyrush sometimes? AND if i still got Essence (YAY DELTAWARE *g*) I will take: Synaptic Accelerator Titanium Bone Lacing (WHY? Because it is cool. Also i like never to worry about broken bones when i am jumping around with my new super-strength) Hm i don't really like the skillwires though... but might be handy... but the idea of "Nah, i didn't do anything, just my body.. ugh. I like to learn my skills myself (And with the enhancement nanites it is so easy too. New language in like a month or so) Well, yeah i would be a total cyborg after that... but at least a bit subtle (except the titanium bones) |

Good point: I'd get some kind of bone lacing for the nigh-immunity to broken bones. It's the little things in life. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

If essence exists, I'd get nothing, if not. Headware, lifestyle bioware, maybe some reflex enhancements.

Hrm... I know I'd get quite a bit of headware. Browsing the Matr--internet with my mind? Oh, yes. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
-Implanted 'link -Datajack -Cyberears -Cybereyes -Bone lacing -Nanotatts, -yes-. -Sleep regulator (could seriously use one of these...) -Cerebral booster, if I could afford one -Spurs Don't think I'd get dietware, as I'm still young enough to have a black hole-like metabolism -- though perhaps when I'd get older and it'd slow down. A taste booster might be nice too. |

Well, since we're nerdgasming, let me go through augmentation:
All of the genetic optimizations, and hyper glucagon. Bone desnsity, suprathyroid, synaptic booster, muscle toners, muscle augs, platelet factory, trauma damper, cerebral booster, sleep regulator, symbiotes to allow it all to repair... Uh, attention coprocessor, math spu, orientation system, imagelink, smartlink, biomonitor, radar sensor.. maybe a sim module and a commlink? Nanohive with implant medics? Have to be deltaware, and at max ratings you'd probably still be sub 1 essence. |

Did anyone mention basic things like toxin/disease resistance? Along with bone lacing/density, I'd be most interested in generally *awesome* health, and *then* worry about superhuman brains and fun gadgets.

I was thinking that too, but then I started to worry about whether it would affect my ability to utilize things like alcohol and caffeine and other substances...or is that a diff. piece of 'ware? Dang being away from the books right now! |

'Utilize' alcohol and caffeine? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Don't worry, the Pathogenic Defense wouldn't interfere; the Toxin Extractor would. O-Cells… I think they're just for diseases.
Incidentally, strike Bone Density: 1) 'long and painful process', 2) doesn't say 'nigh-immune to breaking' like lacing does. |

'Utilize' alcohol and caffeine? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) I think I read about a study recently that said alcohol (in moderation) definitely had health benefits, but the benefits mainly were because of helping you to relax and de-stress. Anyway... |
