Thirty Second Artbomb- I'd call fixing scoliosis a type of cosmetic surgery. The rules allow the more serious cosmetic surgeries to do some wild stuff.
I'd mainly go for the mnemonic enhancer. Would be a big help as I get older and move into a world of ever-accelerating technology. Long term survival would probably also require some gene therapy (assuming they can fix Marfan's syndrome) and replacing most most my aorta. Expanded digestion and would also be nice- I have a lot of stomach upset. Cyber-eyes, maybe- there's likely less invasive ways to fix my vision, but the other features (namely recording, AR, flare, and low light) would be pretty cool. Ears samewise- video recording's not much good without sound, and I know my hearing is decent for my age, but could be better. Both would make sleeping much easier (AR darkness and silence...) |

There are rules for spinal replacement ("research"). :/ A lot of us are talking about superhuman or convenience boosts, but ameliorating major issues is something that 'ware should also (perhaps 'primarily') be able to do. Yeah, fair enough. I mean, once that was out of the way? Cybereyes and -ears with the works, math SPU, rating 2 enecephalon, commlink, hotsim, and maybe a control rig. And possibly cyberlegs. Maybe. Depends on if my knees give out entirely. |

No one put Leonization in there eh? That would be top of my list:
Leonization is among the lifestyle stuff I'd get if there was no essence. Though in 20 years I might not give a crap about essence and still want the fountain of youth. Potential eternal life is about the only thing in trans-humanism that I am interested in generally. Normally I think it is freaking lame and a pox on shadowruns cyberpunk. |

At least it isn't true immortality. That gets boring after a while. It was only after Ocher* lost his immortality that he really learned what it was like to be alive. *A basilisk from the Dragoncharm trilogy. Right up until the ritual that would† have killed all 6 of them for good (by transferring the immortality to another creature) they'd do things like dive-bombing planets in the hopes that they wouldn't survive. †Ocher survived because his brothers decided that "death wasn't good enough for him" due to some of his actions (they considered him a traitor). He still lost his immortality, but didn't die with the rest of them. |

I dunno: the march of medical science is wholly appropriate to cyberpunk. It's just that the 'punk' characters shouldn't ever have access to it (except as a secret medical research backstory, naturally). (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
