Ok so this may sound a little crazy my old school chumers but Armor Foci, why don't we have it?
I mean if you can bind a sword or mace to follow you into the Astral Plane why not bind up some armor to along with?
Seems like it would be an easy thing to put together rules for. Pick suit of armor, have it enchanted, add its
foci rating to damage resistance tests (Possibly even to mana spell resistance) and it follows you to the astral.
Give it the same binding cost as a Weapon foci and its done. Thoughts?

Somethink like this would be pretty cool.
I would rather have my occult investigators dragon skin leather duster as one of these then a sustaining foci for armor spell. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Stuff like that is definitely missing in SR. I miss magical weapons, potions, armor and heal-drinks like in other cool fantasy-setting. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif)

Those ar both Physical spells and won't go into the astral. Astral armor would.

*shrug* Personally, I think Shadowrun shouldn't even have enchanted items, and things like potions are right out. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif)

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.

That nanotech 'blue goo' injection? It's a health/mana potion for the modern age.

You can make healing potions... just use anchoring and cast your healing spell really well.

The enchanting rules are vague enough to allow for pretty much anything. If you cant find a way to "enchant" it you can always have it possessed or inhabited by a (ally) spirit. You can get your flaming sword, etc, if you really want it. Yes, it's probably too costly to be worth it.

And that's totally fine, Doc Chase. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) That's as it should be.

Hm, yeah.

Combat Sense should work too, though it's for the Defense test, not the Resistance test.

Blue Goo is a 'Protection from Nanites' potion.

Stim patches are a health potion. Literally.

DocWagon does not advocate the drinking of Stim Patches.
DocWagon is not liable for any adverse reactions cause by drinking liquefied Stim Patches.

I'm not looking to add Magic Armor. Just Armor Foci. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
As to technology and healing pots, well Lets face it, Synth skin is the closest i have seen.
But given that you can put a Valkyrie pod in the trunk of your car in SR I don't really think
its matters if you can pop a potion.
