still, a veritable ressource.
especially, if it is fast growing. you can, basically, cut down and sell the wood of the same area again and again for year after year. it's more or less free money. |

Hapaul?(sp) or what ever his name is.
And, he start by eating the guy you hired. Given that the only place to get wood out of the jungle is going to be the SaoRio Metroplex, I think he'll know pretty quickly. If you hire too many guys, he looks into who is doing the hiring, and then eats you. |

Given that the only place to get wood out of the jungle is going to be the SaoRio Metroplex, I think he'll know pretty quickly. If you hire too many guys, he looks into who is doing the hiring, and then eats you. Hualpa would be the one. Now, considering that the jungle has eaten all the roads inside the rainforest, you have two options to get out: by air or by river, both of them can be easily watched and tracked and if you really decide to go by land down to Metropole, well, good luck. After cutting your way through the jungle you have the Central Plateau by southeast (mainly a savanna), the Pantanal by south (swamplands) or the Caatinga by east (thorny scrubs desert). The direct way to Metropole would be through the Planalto Central but it is not like you have much cover there, so you are easily spotted again. I can see Hualpa training Harpy shapeshifters in finding and tracking this kind of movement and reporting to *him*. |

I guess I'd never really thought about how little of Canada there was in the UCAS. Watching that graph, I find it hard to believe that the United States gave up its distinctive name and flag to add a section of land smaller than some states. Well, you could say they didn't really give up the flag, because the first UCAS flags were based on the US design and had just a few maple leaves instead of stars. The German version of the Almanac included this flag as the first UCAS flag (the one in the English version stems from 2057). (You can compare the two: English/German).Very cool. I don't suppose you have one for Europe as well somewhere on that site? Not yet, though it's on the map project page. There are again some gaps a major one: when did the Ukraine swallow up Moldavia and occupy northern Romania? There is a lot of other interesting stuff though. A collection of position maps for example, which might be used to develop maps. I started with construction maps as a documentation of Shadowrun geography though I don't now whether I will continue with it. There are blank world maps in four different projections: Platt, Robinson, Mollweide, Mercator. Also some nice SVG versions of logos and weapons.

Maybe this is of some interest. I'm still working on different "historical" Shadowrun maps. These two maps are draft versions for the two phases of the Euro Wars:

Here is a maya calendar for the Sixth World based on the beginning of the new era set to 24th December 2011 (so neither 12th December 2012 nor 12th December 2011 as "Humans & the Cycle of Magic" indicates). For those in the know a correlation number of 583920 is used.
This gives the current longcount and the day and month of the Tzolkin and Haab year with a meter that shows the progress of the year: http://www.shadowhelix.de/Vorlage:NSW-Mayakalender There is also an overview for the Maya calendar dates. Every day from the start date in 2011 until the end of 2079: http://www.shadowhelix.de/Kategorie:Mayaka...r_Sechsten_Welt Maybe you are interested in the calendar graphics: http://www.shadowhelix.de/Kategorie:!Bilder/Haab-Monate (Haab month, reproduced from this Flickr image and self-colored) http://www.shadowhelix.de/Kategorie:!Bilder/Tzolkin-Tage (days of the Tzolkin calendar, taken from Wikipedia) http://www.shadowhelix.de/Kategorie:!Bilder/Mayaziffern (Maya numerals, taken from Wikipedia) |

One more, there is a template to produce maps like these two:
http://www.shadowhelix.de/Datei:Uebersicht...ion_Accords.png http://www.shadowhelix.de/Datei:Uebersicht...c_Abdeckung.png Okay, this is the SVG template file: http://www.shadowhelix.de/Datei:Weltkarten...odifikation.svg (the filename reads "world map template for modification") On the above page I also give the source code for a perl script that can be used to colourise the SVG file. Instructions are in German but if somebody is interested, I can add an English translation. Basically you take the SVG and a list of countries with their new colour and the script will produce a version with the countries (and all the islands) recolourised. |

Something new, an interactive map with countries that grant citizenship to non-metahuman sapients: http://shadowhelix.pegasus.de/Map:_Sapient_Citizenship
The UCAS are missing as their new openness to sapients described in the Almanac seems to result from a retcon. Haven't decided what to do about that. |

Awesome work. I love looking at those sort of timeline maps. Really helps set things in your mind for when a given thing happened. Has this thread been stickied yet?

The sapient rights map has been updated, showing some of the non-state areas, that should not have a SIN registry. Also added AIs and a reference to sources for the information.
Awesome work. I love looking at those sort of timeline maps. Really helps set things in your mind for when a given thing happened. Has this thread been stickied yet? Glad, you like it. The thread is a bit to eclectic, would probably be better to produce a best of list of links at some point.@lokii: Here I throw an Africa map in: (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Ah, i see, i thought it would have been somewhere more north east in africa . . http://shadowrun.wikia.com/wiki/File:Map_africa.jpg http://shadowhelix.pegasus.de/Datei:Karte_Afrika.jpg |

So the Hong Kong Kickstarter inspired me to do another animation. This time the territorial evolution of the Chinese successor states:
http://shadowhelix.pegasus.de/images/a/a2/...ssor_States.gif It's Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 licensed because of the GADM dataset I use (though I wonder about its status, as they no longer have licensing information on the website). Additional information and references can be found here: http://shadowhelix.pegasus.de/Datei:Animat...ssor_States.gif Apart from any mistakes I might have made, I think I got most of the available information in and this should be fairly complete. Of course I have guessed some things: There is no information on the 2017 earthquake's epicentre (nor do I know what the graphic representation I used actually says about its magnitude) and I have inferred when some of the territorial changes happened, usually those uncommented. |

Thanks. I could have used this a month ago when I started my new campaign set in China but I can still adjust things based on it so I'll be getting use out of the new maps. Nice work.

Unfortunately a month ago, the Kickstarter had just started. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Of course. There is always something. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif) Usually my luck is better and these sort of things show up right when I start looking for them. Is there a reason the time line stops at 2057? Also how does this fit with Wordman's 2062 world map? Is his cannon or just guesses? Any idea? |

Is there a reason the time line stops at 2057? 2056. That's the Shadowrun: Hong Kong date. Also how does this fit with Wordman's 2062 world map? Is his cannon or just guesses? Any idea? Wordman's map should predate the Shadows of Asia (SoA) sourcebook. So it's not canon but I think the SoA authors might have taken some inspiration from it. If you are looking for a map of Asia 2072. I can point you to this world map (or Mercator/Mollweide/Platt projection). Though I have to point out, that is not the same as the official Sixth World Almanac map. See this comparison map for the differences: http://shadowhelix.pegasus.de/Datei:Karten...Differences.png (The reason for the differences is discussed at some length in this thread: http://forums.dumpshock.com/index.php?showtopic=39076)The only additional territorial change missing from the animated gif should be Beijing becoming independent in 2060. |

Thanks for the links and the update (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) . Looks like some neighbours are gonna get annexed in my game, which actually works out fine with my story so far.
