that would be awesome. I'm very frustrated that, after I kill everyone in the building (sometimes without losing any karma), taking owner-less equipment costs me karma. I'll have to try this with the Powder Gang.

Oh god, yes, though my offset I gain from killing them is still pretty damn decent compared to what I lose stealing from them.

Early on it's a good way to stock up on .357 and 9mm, as well as dynamite and getting the schematics for the Powder Charge.

Fun fact, you can actually jack the schematic without suffering Karma loss.

It's not the dollar amount, it's the idea of the thing. I killed them, I get looting rights.

Well the one problem solves the other. So now that they're all dead, I'm going to take their stuff out (in buckets so I can keep it).

I'm wondering if you just pick it up and drop it if the karma loss is negated.

Really? I've lost karma from just stealing items where they were lying when I was in a room unobserved. Magically moving the item no longer causes you to lose karma?

Yeah, the game does have some weird karma loss/stealing triggers:

Wait...its ok for me to slaughter these legion members or dynamite-using-raiders, and get +karma for it, but if I loot their stuff from their camp when they're dead, i get -karma? Its ok for you to splatter the guys head, but don't you dare open his footlocker!

The act of killing them is good, but the act of looting is bad. If you loot after you kill you get less good karma due to your mercenary motivations. If you kill but don't loot everyonr is impressed by your super Zen buddhist skill at arms combined with anti materialism.

LOL, I wish I could actually play this game. XD

Considering this is the Nevada wasteland, I'm not surprised that a man's private property is sacrosanct. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

I mostly find it annoying that even though no one ever (or usually ever) sees the stuff that changes your karma, and yet they can somehow tell what it is. I guess I just don't notice that red and black aura around myself like everyone else seems to (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

Yeah, I'm sure he has a massive successful webcomic because no one cares about his avatar character.

Massively successful is open to debate, all I'm saying is for a lot of people I talked to CAD either doesn't register on their radar or they were aware of it and have gone away from it, for a few the miscarriage storyline was kind of the final straw.

In related news a funny thing occured to me today. It's always funny how RPG's only reward kills and not defeats in most examples. Lets say i'm walking down the interstate and a group of vipers attack me, I headshot the leader right off the bat and wing a few of the others causing them to break and run, i only get credit for those guys if I run them down and kill them, what's worse I can't fast travel or sleep until I have ran them down and killed them.

ugh, for some reason i decided to get all buddy buddy with the brotherhood, after frying the helios plant to high heaven. This by way of a certain young lady i picked up at a trader station. Sadly this means that i need to dig around inside a irradiated, ghoul infested vault! Radiation sickness and glowing ones do not mix! Btw, the quest is borked to high heaven. One option is some farming stuff, that i happened to pick up during a earlier quest. I am sure the data is still stored on the pip-boy but the quest wants me to download it from the source. A non-completable option...

And i really need to do something about my AP regen, as it is basically worthless in any fight that involve 2+ enemies. That or get the lady some power armor (i think there are some dead paladins somewhere that i can loot) so that she can beat them into submission (my own fist broke down from over-use, and repairs are highly expensive!)...

I have been acquiring a ridiculous amount of dynamite.

Seems to fall from the sky or something.

Does the blessed fiery flow of sticks taper off later on?

Yes, for quite a bit of time you end up getting dynamite, then they start transitioning into frag grenades. Those early raiders near your starting city will continue to use dynamite, as that is 'their thing', but as you start heading north and into 'higher level' zones, grenades become more common, as do missile launchers.

On a side note, I love using 40 mm grenades in a lowbie grenade rifle, its just funny (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
